This is a beautiful hotel with very nice rooms. The location was great, a very short walk over to Market St. Nice bar and restaurant inside and the staff all went above and beyond to help in any way. Super friendly and great place to stay.

The Renaissance in Charleston Historic District is an absolutely beautiful hotel! We received the most excellent hotel service, huge shout-out to Ali at check-in for getting us into a room even though we were ridiculously early. Also a big thank-you to Mr. Bill, who helped us with valet-ing our car and taking care of our bags. Both of these team members truly helped us get our vacation started! The room was large, luxurious, and very clean. Great modern decor, with a huge TV and a very well-appointed bathroom. The room was quiet, the heat/AC worked well, and the bed was very comfortable. The location cannot be beat, right in the middle of the beautiful historic area of Charleston. A short Uber ride or walk to great restaurants, bars, museums etc. but not too loud. The food and drinks at the restaurant/bar inside the hotel were great as well! Absolutely loved our stay! Thanks, Marriott!

The hotel itself is nice and despite 2 issues with the room itself, the staff was very quick to fix them. The TV didn't work and the sink wouldn't drain...within an hour or so they were on top of getting quick resolutions and were very accommodating to make things right. However, I cannot give them 5 stars because the beds we're terribly uncomfortable and the pillows flattened out simply laying on them. But the worst part was the walls and doors are paper thin. The people in the adjoining room were having a casual conversation and you could hear them clear as day.

Quality hotel experience in a good location. The rooms were of good size, but the bathrooms we're not laid out as efficiently as many of the Marriott properties we have stayed in. The beds were nice, but not as comfortable as most Marriott hotels. The in-room TVs were large and exceeded expectations.

Great location (right off King), bad service (we had to ask for things multiple times over several hours before they were delivered to the room, i.e. Extra towels, and the front desk staff wasn't helpful), comfortable rooms (clean and spacious). The restaurant, 1Kept, has amazing food.

The maids bang the doors of the rooms they're cleaning against the open deadbolt thing as they go in and out, which you can hear down the hallway = we were awoken by this annoying noise three mornings in a row and it lasted for over an hour as the rooms around us were cleaned. So rude. So annoying.

I learned about Renaissance Hotels after meeting Arleen Berardino - Marketing Director at the Renaissance New York Hotel 57. The idea of historic hotels being managed by Marriott seemed appealing so when my wife and I were traveling in Charleston we had to give it a shot. What an astonishingly beautiful hotel. And what a great staff. We're Renaissance fans for life.

Very nice hotel staff. We arrived in Charleston at 8AM on a Saturday and they were able to get us a room by noon. The rooms seem to be renovated, with tile flooring, a nice chaise sofa, and comfy bed and pillows. There are lots of outlets everywhere, some integrated into the furniture, so there is no need to move furniture around to find an outlet. The TV is very big. The bathrooms are updated, clean, and spacious. Our room had a mini fridge, waters, and coffee/tea. My husband went to the pool and said it was nice, and good to do laps. The only negative I have is that the wifi is not free. The hotel is very centrally located, right between Meeting street and King Street. Very close to the shops, and a short walk to restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!!

All of the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Or room was spacious and comfortable. The pool was nice, but they could have a few more umbrellas for shade. The workout facilities we're pretty standard.

First let me state that I am a Marriott rewards member and travel quite a bit with quite a bit of experience with Marriotts. When we arrived the king room that was booked was evidently not available and instead two double beds were offered. The front desk "manager" Kristen, indicated they never know what type of room is booked. I've since checked with others in the hospitality industry and they said no way! Clearly the front desk staff was mistaken and or they make random decisions on issuing room assignment. Secondly they weren't properly trained or had any understanding of how their rewards program works. Personally I think Kristen could have cared less about anything associated with my stay. Her customer service skills are seriously lacking to be a "manager". Very, very disappointing experience, and would never, ever stay here again. There are way too many other excellent options in Charleston with impeccable service.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights. Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful and quiet rooms. Free delicious breakfast in the morning and complimentary wine and appetizers in the evening. Will definitely stay here again.
