This place SUCKS! I would suggest driving a little more to get to a better, more caring hospital. They think everybody that comes here is a drug addict, trying to get drugs. Brought a friend here, she thought she was having a heart attack, we arrived at at 701pm, haven't been seen by anyone but registration, so they can get there money, it's now 740pm still no Dr. PLEASE DON'T COME HERE, SO THEY CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN! Recently, my good friends mother was admitted here, she was dying from cancer. She was in for 3 days trying to fight. They prescribed her spent for the pain, unfortunately I don't know what, but she was supposed to 0.4 units of this drug. The nurse that came in to administer the drug gave her 40 units, not 0.4 units, guess this nurse had a bad case of dyslexia. Needless to say, she past away a short time later from an overdose of that pain killer. I'm trying to let everyone I can not to go to this hospital, unfortunately it might be the last place you ever go. Any other hospital is a better choice, please I beg you not to take yourself or anyone you care about the Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center. I wish I could rate it a ZERO, or A NEGATIVE, but Google won't let me. Thanks for reading this post, hope it helps someone, anyone from making a life changing decision.

Took my husband to the ER in August with sever pain from Vascular surgery he had done the week before. They did blood work and tests. I told the PA or MA that he is a transplant patient. You can’t give him certain antibiotics. So time went on, he was admitted. They put him in a room with another patient. I told them he is a transplant patient and needs to be in a private room. They said his blood work was all normal. I said that doesn’t matter, his immune system is compromised. They said they thought there were some open rooms. Next day I spoke to my husband he wasn’t moved. I spoke to his dr who admitted him and told him, he agreed with me. I said well they didn’t and he needs to get out.
I went on the patient portal and saw my husbands blood work results and his comprehensive panel was way out of range! Him being a transplanted patient this is very important. His liver enzymes were very high besides other. With this being said, GI should have been consulted!!!! If that MA/PA knew about transplanted patients she would have consulted GI then. If she would have told me the numbers I would have known something was wrong. She only said a little elevated. So here his liver was rejecting and we are still today dealing with it! I am glad I went in the portal and then called his GI dr. He referred my husband to Largo Transplant Center. This being said I say that they should be educated in his to deal with transplanted patients!

My mother was admitted a week ago with an infection. she is 91 years old and walking just fine when she got there. they have left her lying in bed for over a week to the point where she no longer can walk. we were told she would have physical therapy while she was there and this never happenned. they ignore her because she is old. i am in Los Angeles and can't get there to help. now they are talking about putting her in a whellchair. i am heartbroken over all of this. avoid going to this hospital especially if it involves and elderly person.

My suggestion is to do anything possible to NOT be sent there at night.
There were no doctors at the hospital in the cardiac care unit at night. I repeat, no doctors in the hospital for the cardiac care unit at night. Family member admitted only to to be given a Tylenol with crazy chest pain and told a doctor could see her int he AM. If things got worse they could call a "rapid response team". I'm not sure why anyone would be admitted to a cardiac care unit with chest pain knowing doctors were not on premises. It's a hospital, so honestly mind boggling. Major heart history, +Chest Pain+ Ambulance doesn't warrant getting a doctor in at night to see you... unfortunately zero stars is not an option. If possible, figure out how to take a flat line to get some attention.

Cant say enough good things about the Nurses in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) they are the most caring group of people I have ever met. They have great compassion for their patients as well as family members. My 2 Aunts were both recently admitted due to a horrific car accident. The care they received from the Nurses, Doctors, and therapist was exceptional, thank you for taking such great care of my family.

If I could give them a negative 5 I would.
First response was great but don't stay especially if you are a veteran. My dad fell and hit his head...Dr Randolph and Scott took great care of him and told us what was going on at all times. They left at 7 and the next shift sucked...my dad laid in wet underwear and blood all over him from 3am til 3pm. My poor mother had to sit in a plastic chair for that long. Not a single doctor came in and gave her an update. They got him in a room at 3pm and the staff there had no idea what was going on with him so they had to call the docs to get an update. Then the next day not one stinking doctor came in and spoke to my mother about what needs to be done next. Worse hospital experience ever! Those docs should lose their license to practice. The lack of communication is just the perfect set up for major medical errors to occur. For medical error classes this is an example of what not to do...no procedure or even compassion for anyone. Pathetic! They need to be shut down.

I went to the er and waited over 3 hrs to be seen by doctor . I was there for 9 hrs before I got released. They offered to get me a room to stay. I just wanted to home before my cat scan which took hours. I understand they have trauma patients which I wasn't. I wanted a sediative for cat scan which I told them that I would probably need. They waited till I was taken for the cat scan without sediative and returned me to get the seditave. Had to wait hours for another spot for my cat scan . The nurses were nice . Doctors were good . The er procedures fail in getting patients seen in reasonable time. I was offered to stay in hospital a few times but couldn't stand to stay any longer. My husband had outpatient surgery which went much better. His nurses were good.

I've had surgery here twice now with Dr Eric Sincoff. My most recent surgery on December 29th, 2016 went very well. The nurses were for the most part, excellent. However, I'm VERY upset that I came home without my sterling silver and crystal cross necklace that my mom just gave me for Christmas!
    UPDATE -My necklace was found!
UPDATE - On my surgery and Dr Eric Sincoff. I've had nothing but complications since the surgery. Dr Sincoff left the practice he was with- without notifying his patients-just three weeks after my surgery. I find this appalling. I did not find out until March. I am living in constant pain.

I was admitted with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. The staff was kind and quick, explaining everything ahead of time. I was a bit disappointed with the day nurse whom left me laying in my own urine til the night nurse came in and helped me clean up. This place is better than most. 3 stars.

I could go on and on but to try and summarize it up total lack of communication between each other the patient and patients family, lack of intelligence, multiple times given conflicting information from other conversations. Lying about the patients status, giving drugs to patient who did not need them without consent or alerting family. Also not alerting family to alleged accidents patient had while in hospitals care. When asked what was the reason why they wanted to keep the patient shoulders were shrugged and finally after asking multiple times I was given a retarded answer. They said the patient was incoherent yet they allowed the patient to sign an ama form to release themselves. If it was possible i would have given 0 stars. Would have to say single worst experience I have ever had with any medical professionals ever. I would highly recommend never using this so called hospital if at all possible.

Terrible!! Had infection in my blood and my back that required surgery to scrape it out. Was in enormous pain and they don't care. Even got accused of being a drug addict in the beginning for wanting pain medication by Dr Robert Young. The surgeon who worked on me has abandoned me now when my case is in critical stage as well as infectious disease specialist. By the way, I'm still here in tremendous pain, I can't get up or even sit up, lay in bed with pain ranked at 10 and Young doesn't care. Some of the nurses are are good and some don't want to be bothered with you. Strongly recommend no one comes here and I'm sure you can guess what my next step is going to be
