I am not a fan of Kingstowne 16. With so many nice movie theaters around, especially the Regal at Springfield mall, Kingstowne simply does not compete. You can't pre-pick your seating, so there's no guarantee you're going to get to sit where you want, the theater itself feels dingy and dirty and the ticket prices are ridiculously expensive (I paid $13.50 per ticket last time I was there). That money is NOT worth the experience.
Seriously, go to Regal Springfield Town Center 12. You pay about the same price for your ticket, but you get to reserve your seats AND you get those awesome reclining chairs for the same price.
I'll also mention that the location of Kingstowne 16 isn't ideal. The county has tried to spruce up this area by adding in the shopping center, but it's still not great. I've personally witnessed a fight break out outside of the theater on a Friday night and was once pulled aside by a police officer who mistook me for someone who had started a fight earlier that day. Now, there's almost always 1-2 police officers parked outside of the theater to "keep the peace".
Additionally, parking is predictably terrible and parking is almost always a nightmare.
These things aren't the theater's fault, but definitely make the overall experience less enjoyable.
Has everything one expects at first run movies on opening weekend. Concession lines, comfortable seats, boxes of hankies (bring your own) for the emotional responses. Modern, clean, well run theater.
Movie was good, matinee price was right, concession stand line was REALLY long. Waited 15 minutes!
Just your usual movie theater. Staff was nice and theater was clean. Theater seats are comfortable and have lots of leg room.
It's just a movie theater, but it's kept clean, the staff is helpful, and it has an RPX screen, if you want a little more premiere experience for your showing. Great location with tons of restaurants nearby
I've been going to movies here for a couple years. Recently they stopped running the air conditioner before the movie starts and for about the last 20-30 minutes of it. The result is an uncomfortable hot theater. The last time I was there it actually got so hot that I got sick. There are plenty of theaters in the area that stay a comfortable temperature, so I won't be going back here.
The RPX seats are nice. The theater is always clean. Don't interact with the staff much. So couldn't say if they are nice or helpful.
I find this theatre to be above average in most respects. I've always been happy with the cleanliness, service, pictures, wait times and food. As everyone expects, the prices can be a bit much, especially if you like to go to the movies frequently. There are also nice nearby restaurants and shops.
Convenient, Clean and well maintained theater. Easy and free parking beneath the theater
Clean and a good selection of food. Typically overpriced.
Nice and cleans. Several theaters and movies to choose from.
best time to come is in the middle of the week you do not have to deal with so many people.
the only negative Bing that I have to complain about is the expensive popcorn and snacks. It is truly ridiculous especially when you don't need a jumbo popcorn. However, the smaller options are valued even higher.
Pretty good experience going to this Regal, you can park in the multi-level garage or outside and pretty fast service. I recommend going here for sure.
I love this location. There is no seat assignments here. And they do have the RPX for those folks interested in the "premium" experience.
