Super friendly campground. Everyone stops to visit. Very clean bathrooms & laundry. Note: This camp is 30 min. from West Yellowstone & 5 miles from main road. Definitely a "get away from it all" atmosphere. Groceries & gas about 10 min. away.
Very quiet facility off the beaten track, 30 minutes to West Yellowstone. Full hookups, grazing cows are the only neighbors. Campground hosts were fabulous.
The park offers sites for friends camping together, where front doors of 2 campsites face each other with space between picnic tables.
If you are a late night party person, please stay at another campground.
Background: My family was spread between two spots as we had a pop up and a fifthwheel we had four kids (12, 10, 5, and 5 months) and three adults. We stayed four nights Th-Sun pulled out Monday am.
Serene and tranquil.
6 miles off the highway, you don't have much road traffic or noise. There is South Shore access to Henry lake less than 1 mile down a dirt road that boarders the north side of the park, it feels like a private lake as we were the only ones there every time we went (which was a lot). The downside to all this beautiful seclusion (for the young modern crowd) is the limited to no cell service and the spotty Wi-Fi, they ask you not stream but I wasn't even able to load pictures daily. I loved it cause nobody could be nose in the phone. We played cards and board games.
Julie was courteous at check in and even knew ALL guests names when she was out and about in the park!! Awesome hospitality on her part she was just fabulous! Of course like every please there are those staff who are unpleasant, mostly the old guy with glasses and a grey mustache.
Showers and bathrooms were always clean and we never waited in line.
So we read the reviews of limited space and were extremely concerned about having enough room for kids. However, the park is genius in how the designed the lay out. They park RVs and campers back to back, so utilities are on the back side of both campers and out of the way. Yes when slides go out you could probably touch your neighbors slide but you are left with a massive "front yard." Most spaces have mature trees and tons of shade. We loved both locations.
Also upon reading the reviews we worried about a long list of rules, however, if you are an avid camper, as my family is, the rules list is very short compared to some places we have stayed and are all VERY reasonable.
The only "issue" we had was the pop up sat right next to the playground, which at first we were super stoked about cause I could laze around with the baby while observing the children from bed. Camp rules state that quiet time is to start at 10 pm. And some people are ok with letting their kids be outside without supervision after 9, I personally do not, and this caused a problem because we heard everything! My Kids' bedtime, even during the summer because I believe in routines and structure, is 8:30 p.m. and there were literally kids at the park screaming and squealing until 10:01. My offer of solution of compromise would be to maybe "close" the playground at 9 p.m. children could still play and carry on but at their own campsite until 10?
Overall we loved it. Would comeback!
Choosen very spontaneously - no problem to get one of the very last vacant sites. Friendly staff. We felt very comfortable here.
Family Favorite! We have been coming to this camp ground for the last 4 years and will be going again this year. I love that it is off the main highway and still close to the lake. The scenery is beautiful, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The dog walk area is so nice, everyone is great about picking up after their dogs helping to keep it nice.
A decent RV park. It IS cramped. Our spot was on the north side and we could just about reach out the window and touch the neighbors slide out. The spots on the north side are small, but have the best views. Be advised, there are a lot of rulesdon't break them!! Also, you cannot check in after a certain time, 6pm I think. After 6, your outta luck, your a rule breaker! It is in the middle of nowhere, you can't hear anything except for the other campers. Lake Henry is close, but if you are going to fish there, fishing has declined in recent years and you should find another spot.
Good place, pricey for tent camping but the staff and awesome! Bathroom clean! Tent pads are mixed in with RV and campers.
Was in need of a place to stay on our visit to Yellowstone and this was the only place that had just one spot left. We grabbed it not knowing what to expect. Well, what a nice surprise. Beautiful, peaceful, quite location, friendly & helpful are just a few of the things I felt the moment we pulled in.
You won't feel like your in the usual RV Park atmosphere you'll feel as if you've just arrived into a small home town neighborhood. it's a ways off the main highway but worth the drive. I must say we were sad to leave.
We did find the nightly site cost a bit on the high side and the internet service limits how many Gs you can use. Hope they can work on the internet service and give campers some streaming ability.
Excellent service and friendly welcome from Karen and Louise. Immaculate bathrooms with showers, lush landscaping, and wonderfully quiet.
A clean and well run RV park on a lake and close to West Yellowstone. The spots are a little tight and there is almost no shade.
