Due diligence is an integral part of every aspect of the healthcare industry from hiring practices to patient care. From all of us here at Reality Check Screening, we would like to extend our sincere thoughts and prayers for safety to those in the path of Hurricane Florence. We have several colleagues and clients along the coast and are thinking of you!
Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall within the next 24-48 hours somewhere along the North Carolina coast. Governors in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia have already ordered mandatory evacuations of low-lying areas, a...nd school districts as well as government offices are closed. Additionally, this storm is expected to track inland and stall out, dumping huge amounts of rain over a wide area. Inland flooding is anticipated, which may impact courts well outside of the coastal region.
Expect delays for some educational and training verifications as well as court-related search products in these areas over the next couple of days as the storm passes, damage is assessed, and government offices reopen.
Thanks to everyone for their understanding and we'll keep you posted on any delays!
See MoreAt the recent MRRN conference, I had the pleasure and honor of meeting and hearing Mr. HK Derryberry speak. He and his friend Mr. Bradford were inspirational, funny and endearing. If you don't know HK's story, you should look it up -- your issues may just seem a little lighter. Additionally, if you have a group for which you need a speaker, they were absolutely wonderful!
Reality Check Screening would like to wish everyone a safe and fun 4th of July. Our office will be closed on Wednesday but will re-open on Thursday at 8 a.m.
Today's "Is it Reportable?" from the National Practitioner Databank (NPDB)
If a state board denies the application of a practitioner who did not have the required number of practicum hours, should the action be reported?
No. A board should not report cases in which a health care practitioner, entity, provider, or supplier simply does not meet the threshold criteria for licensure.
