When we arrived at the house we rented the weeds and what little grass there was were overgrown. The sunken front stoop was covered in mud. Lack of maintenance on the outside should have been a sign of what we would find inside. It looked like bathrooms had not been cleaned: one toilet had pee and hair under the seat; one had feces stuck to the bowl; one had pee dripped down the outside of the bowl. The floor in one of the master bathrooms was dirty and sticky and the shower drain had a layer of hair on top of it. There was dried food stuck to the stove; broken screen door; broken shade in one of the bedrooms; dirty comforter and pillows in another bedroom. We couldn't sit outside on the deck due to insects flying around, and there was dog poop in a corner on the deck. No response from Railey to my email about issues or my written list turned in at checkout.
The home we recently rented had numerous issuesbroken windows, screens, appliances (stove, dishwasher), lack of comfortable seating on the decks, peeling paint, dirty coffee pot to name a few. While Railey did send repair persons, nothing was done about the major issues, ie appliances. According to the appliance person, he had been there the previous week for the same thing.
When we complained about the quality of our vacation, we were given a very minimal refund and informed that the do not usually offer any refund. They do not guarantee that any of the appliances, amenities are functional!!!
Railey needs to check on the condition of their properties and deal with the home owners when so MANY things are out of order.
If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. The property (Rocky Knoll II) we rented had mice living in it - we found mice poop in the bathrooms, on the floor, and even in the master bed! We left a message to complain, and after the committee "reviewed" the issue they decided they couldn't refund the money. The reason they stated was because they couldn't reproduce the poops. What a joke - look elsewhere for a property. The staff is horrible and these people care only about the bottom line.
I've rented through Railey several times. The staff is attentive and helpful in guiding me through the properties so I got what I wanted. Deep Creek is a great vacation area -- year round -- and Railey is an excellent service to use in finding a home rental
We had a great time at Ace's Chalet vacation home. The inside of the house was beautiful and VERY clean! The ground's were well kept! As usual the staff was awesome and very helpful. We will be back in July!!
Great experience in finding and renting a house at Deep Creek. We arrived late and their system for getting keys were great. Lots of useful information and easy checkout afterwards. Will definitely use again!
Clean nice house. Easy process. Left my best favorite frying pan there. Couldn't get it back unless I paid $75 for them to mail it back. Ugh. But definitely would rent their places again.
Every time that I visit I choose a different cabin. Each one better than the last. Making payments was easy and the staff is friendly. They are vacation homes so we expect a lil tiny wear and tear. One year our dish washer was leaking and maintenance come right away and fixed the problem. We have so much fun that my friends wanna go twice a year now. Lol.
They just cancelled our reservation for new year's that was booked more than a month ago. No explanation. No apology. Nothing. We had 4 families with kids travelling - one via air. Very disappointed.
