Georgia is a land famed for its natural bounty. There are over 500 varieties of grapes in Georgia -- a greater diversity than anywhere else in the world. Approximately 40 of these grape varieties are being used in commercial wine production. Georgia, considered to be the cradle of wine, has a wine culture and history that date back 8,000 years. That's 4,500 years before the first settlers went into Egypt's Nile Valley!

To many importers, Georgian wineries may seem remote and difficult to make contact with due to distance and language barriers. Some may perceive Georgian wines, food and culture to be exotic.
