I always love this place. More for the staff than anything. The table side tap was a bit tricky but that's what the bartenders are for. We had cheese curds and fries both delicious.

Great atmosphere, food, and service. Our server Maria was one of the best servers I have ever had. She was great at giving recommendations, and keeping our drinks full. The mussels were amazing, and the seasonal cake shake was delicious. Definitely will be back!

Grabbed lunch here. Great beers. Awesome wings. Attentive staff. Wife's salad was okay. She loved the fried pickles.

The loop and Near/River North areas have an almost unlimited selection of bars and gastropubs to choose from. Given that, public house suffers less from anything wrong with it, but what's right with so many of it's neighbors. If Public House was in Uptown or in Irving Park, for example, it would stand out much more. As is, it's very blah. There really isn't anything to make it stand out- atmosphere is very samey and cookie-cutter, food is good but not great, and the drinks are standard fare.
The one fun thing is the self service taps attached to each booth- however ridiculous prices make it unusable. For example, you can get a draft pint of bud light here for $6. To get that very same pint of bud light from the self service tap at the booth, it costs $8. Just stupid, wouldn't come back here when there are literally more than a dozen great bars within half a mile of public house- some even a few doors down.

If you want to feel like you're nothing and less important than other people who got to this bar before you, this is your place. We got here, got in line and the manager kept telling us to wait. They said they were at capacity; but kept letting people in before us. Do yourself a favor and don't come here. If you want bad service and be discriminated against however you come here. You'd get better service to your nearest McDonald's. Avoid this place at ALL COSTS

I had a very nice experience here as we visited with friends from abroad!!! The staff let us talk almost an hour before we ordered. There was no rush and the food was good!

Enjoyed a memorable business dinner / event at Public House. We ordered a variety of appetizers and they were all delicious! Our guests especially appreciated the ambiance. The beer & liquor taps at the table were a big hit! Highly recommend this venue from anything from a date night, night out with friends or entertaining guests from out of town.

We went for late night, the menu is small at that time but we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food one! It tasted fresh and flavorful. They have an outdoor patio, which is much quieter than the inside (which looks like a lot of fun if you're out with friends)! Well go back!

Very fancy and pretentious place to go and visit. You have a good mix of overly entitled people, nice young couples and very hard working staff. I enjoyed my time here. The beer was cold and crisp and the flatbread seemed freshly made. The service was quick and the server was always happy. The bus-boys were also johnny on the spot when it came to water refills.

Gastropub cool atmosphere. It's all self seating so not sure why there's a reception desk. It relatively fast turnaround time to find a spot. We didn't get a drink, when for CAKE ON A SHAKE - chocolate and it was heaven.

Went on a Tuesday, didn't know it was “Sex and The City Trivia Night” Basically its single ladies night on Tuesdays. So if you're down to see a whole bunch of single woman get excited over trivia, then here you go.

Our waiter was nice, seemed like she was new or in training still. Only say that cause she didn't really come back to check on us. The music selection was pretty solid. Until the “DJ” got on the spin. His transitions were something I heard from a high school talent show. Should have brought my CDJ's to show him a thing or two.

The food was good not gonna lie. The Cake shakes or whatever they're called aren't even all that. Yes they're overrated yes save your money. This place isn't all that bad. Just not a place I'll consider about making a stop at.

Great environment for the outgoing party crowd! Just went there for their famous milkshakes. Although we did have a couple of drinks since we made it during happy hour. Service was quick. Will definitely be coming back.
