The Fort Hood Veterinary Center (VETCEN) had the privilege of a visit by Regional Health Command-Central Commanding General, Brigadier General (BG) Jeffrey Johnson during his visit to Fort Hood. BG Johnson was able to see the recently acquired Tele-health-in-a-bag (THIAB) in use during an examination with a MWD.

BG Johnson also recognized two VETCEN personnel for their outstanding contributions to the VETCEN and Fort Hood community. Awardees of the CG’s Coin of Excellence were PFC Kayla Puls and Dr. Ralph Darling. Congrats to both!

The Army Emergency Relief (AER) celebrates 77 years of assisting Soldiers and families. In 1942, Army Emergency Relief began as a private, nonprofit organization. Since then, the organization has helped more than 3.7 million Soldiers, Retirees and Families receive vital financial assistance and scholarships totaling $1.9 billion and aims to provide more assistance during their annual campaign March 1 through May 15.

AER provides loans that are always free from interest and f...ees to Service Members and immediate family members in need of financial assistance. Repayment of loans is vital to ensure that AER can continue to provide assistance to the community it serves.

AER is the Army's own emergency financial assistance organization and is dedicated to "Helping the Army Take Care of its Own." AER financial assistance is conducted within the Army structure by mission commanders and garrison commanders through AER Sections located at U.S. Army installations worldwide.

Right now, AER is offering financial assistance for Soldiers affected by flooding in the Midwest.

For more information about AER, visit www.aerhq.org.
