Buyer beware! You may be exposed to the muriatic acid fumes when u enter this shop. If it smells odd, get out. The acid vapor will burn lung tissue! Don't touch any liquid on the property. The owner leaves open containers of copper soaking in acid inside the shop. He also uses the acid to dye other rocks different colors. He's under investigation by the Hazardous Waste disposal of Michigan for dumping acid and other hazardous chemicals directly on the ground. Exercise caution when entering this shop or dealing with the owner.

Best rock shop that we have ever been to. Operators are super friendly and know their stuff. One stop souvenir shop for geology buffs! Great for kids to see mineral specimens and fossils from the area and around the world.

One of the best rock shops in Upper Michigan with a huge selection, from great big stone carved statues to tiny little trilobite fossils. The neatest items I think are the local specimens like the copper silver halfbreeds, datolite, and copper crystals. The variety is wonderful. The owner of the store is a great guy too. He's always willing to put in the extra effort, whether it be finding a very rare specimen for a customer or pointing a fellow prospector in the right direction to successful rock-hounding locations. Definitely a Must Stop for the Traveler as well as the Locals. You never know what amazing rocks you might find @ Prospector's Paradise. Fun Rock Shop for all ages!
