Man, you can get an amazing Manhattan here. The bartenders know their stuff. But you came for the barbecue and you won't be disappointed with that either. The baked beans are some of tube most savory and best I've ever eaten. I'd skip the duck fat fries, but they're suppose to be good. I would have preferred regular fries. I just didn't taste a big difference that would make me want to order them again. And don't forget dessert. It was just as good as my second Manhattan.
I love the overall atmosphere of this place. The beer selection is great. The food is very good but the portions are tiny and the prices are high. There was no side included with a $15 sandwich which seems a little crazy. I wish they would just throw in some fries.
Delicious!!! Creamy but great textured grits. Incredibly tender brisket with shoestring onions. Perfectly cooked fries. Winner all around! (Probably should have stopped before dessert. Great cheesecake but "pig on pork" as my father used to say.
We went to the main restaurant. It was super crowded, so we had to wait a while before seats opened up. The bartenders were friendly and helpful and really quick with both our pre-seat drink orders and our bar-side food orders. The beers were really good, and they had a wide enough selection of both on-house brews and some from other local brewers. The food was delicious. I got a pulled pork sandwich, and it was super juicy. I was concerned it wasn't gonna be quite enough to fill me up, but it was actually the perfect amount of food for me. I would definitely recommend eating and drinking (responsibly) here. Just an FYI - they have a bar in the building behind that has a different menu and was less crowded than the restaurant. Didn't try the food there, but got my passport stamps and the bartender there was pretty friendly too.
Brew pub is hopping(pun intended) good pub food for the volume they do. Busy place 1130 to 1400hrs. Could not get into the restaurant, 1hr wait at 1245hrs. Great in house hot/flavorful sauces. Beer is excellent. Hope to get into the restaurant in the future
Food was great! Super delicious, but surprisingly not too heavy. Only issue was a slow Kitchen. It took nearly 50 minutes for our food to come out. Still Wallis recommend if you're not in a rush. If they have the Saagy Bottom Boys special, get it.
Because there's no reservations, the wait to get a table is often an integral part of the dining experience, as you can get one of their excellent beers or cider on tap and work up an appetite--which you'll need, because the portions are generous and the food is delicious. The dry rub wings are the best thing on the menu, hands down. The mac and cheese comes in second place--a rich mix of cheeses and a buttery crumble on top a fun shaped pasta.
Great experience. Amazing food. I had beef brisket with sides of collard greens & duck-fat fries. My husband had chicken & biscuits. Staff helped with beer pairing from their own brewery.
The wait to be seated was about double of what was predicted (almost an hour), which is not an issue as this place is popular and we had a larger party. The issue arose with the food and prices. I got the GLT sandwich which was good, but small with a bun that looked like it was purchased from a grocery store chain. I also asked for a side order of duck fat fries. The fries were okay, but looked and tasted liked they came from a bag at Costco.and to top it off I was charged $7 instead of the advertised $4..over all I feel this place is a tourist trap. The brewery wasn't bad but the lady who waited on me wasn't the most welcoming or polite. probably my first and last trip there.
The food was amazing (I had the brisket sandwich) and came out of the kitchen extremely fast. Their beer (IPA) is also very tasty. My only negative comment is that sides are $4 extra, on the lunch menu anyways,. Would be nice to include something with the sandwich for one price. Make sure you check out the brewery in the back where they have shirts and hats for salealso a different brewery menu for food.
The luring aroma of bacon greeted me as I crossed the street walking toward "the pig". Amazing food! As always. Quick, and pleasant staff even on a slamming Friday lunch. One note the blueberry cheesecake is in ice cream form tasty, but save yourself the hassle of picking it up off the table and ask for a bigger bowl right away.
This restaurant has amazing cocktails, beer and of course, delicious BBQ burgers. We went on a Sunday for lunch and got there just in time before the crowd. It got super crowded around noon so expect to wait, they seem really popular. The bar is large and always full and seems to be a place where the younger crowd and families hang. The burgers don't come with anything, so you have to pay 4 more dollars for a side and you'll want a side with how small the burgers are. The food came out quick despite the crowd though, which is great!
Loved it. food is great and beer is pretty darn good. The whole place smells of smoky goodness. The staff is super and attentive. The down side is the size but there brewery part is out back and they have a menu with plenty of room. The facilities are rustic and inviting full of new England charm. Great place and good job, my new favorite place in Vermont!
Very good! Hill Farmstead and Lawson's on tap makes this place excellent as it is. The food is also very good, but don't expect it to be life altering. PP makes very nice comfort food and it's great. They do not make world class comfort food that will change you conception of tasty. Worth stopping for a meal and some drinks. Very good all around, even if there's a 30-40 minute wait.
Food is really good for the most part. Some things were amazing some things were just ok. I'd definitely go back for some of the items on the menu.
I have no words for this place. Seriously some of the best dinner I've had in my life. If you're not from Vermont, you need to stop here. If you are from Vermont, you need to go here daily.
Get any of their burgers. Get the duck fat fries; you'll thank me later.
When I go to Pro pig everyone tries to convince me how good it is. If you are a hipster d-bag on vacation in Vermont and have no idea, I am sure it is amazing. No locals dine here. If you like standing in line for OK food, get a life. Having grown up in New England and lived in the south/mid west I know you are getting screwed. On top of this the food they are serving you is twice the price for no reason. I have no reason to post this other than having crappy meals. I did not eat my wings and side of potato salad. The rub on the wings had an enormous layer of salt. Heart attack, tried to wipe it off. The potato salad was even worse.
I was on vacation in Vermont and found the best brewery! I make it a point to visit as many as I can when I travel, and Pro Pig was absolutely amazing! Not only was the beer great, but they had an astounding restaurant side. The duck fat fried fries were delicious! If you're anywhere near Waterbury, do yourself a favor and go here.
Food was pretty decent. Some was really good (like the chopped pork or duck fat fries) but others wasn't (like the brisket, too fatty). We picked our food up to go but it looks like a trendy place to eat. Easy to get to. They were knowledgeable about gluten allergies so that was a major plus (and the reason we chose it) I would go there again if in the area. My wife and I split a pork meal and added a second meat and it was enough for both of us and some leftovers.
Overall a pretty good choice.
