A wonderful spot for a stroll. Day or night, sunshine or snow! Summer months offer great options for entertainment.

We recently visited Portsmouth and took a walk through it’s historic Prescott Park. The boys enjoyed seeing the shed where historic boats are repaired and launched. The dog loved the Park’s flowers until we eventually discovered signs that informed us he wasn’t allowed in the park. Oops.

Lovely spot to take the family. Events are happening here a lot of times. Live music an theatre. Also, there's a fabulous garden adjacent for those memorable family selfies. And it's on the waterfront, so you can stroll down to the dock and watch boaters make fools of themselves. What an afternoon it could be!

On a road trip with dogs, decided to stop by because it popped up on a list of things to do. Arrived on Tuesday, Sept. 5th. Not busy, parking was a breeze. I can't say much about the park, NOT DOG FRIENDLY. It looked clean and they had a fountain, from what I could see from the sidewalk. Walked further down the side walk and got to the garden NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Big bummer in our book. Hence the 3 stars. Had to turn around and walk around in-town. Nice town, lots of shops are dog friendly, and have water dishes outside!👍

I love Prescott park. They have plays every Friday it's the same one but they've been doing it since 1940's. It really reminds you that your part of a community. And the flowers are so beautiful. In summer is the best. It's closed down in fall. And reopens in spring. All the beautiful flowers blooming. And it's near the water.

Had an amazing time at Mary Poppins on a Sunday afternoon with my family. Would have been five stars but parking is atrocious. Plan on arriving early to park and walk there - parked at a local (closed) bank. If bringing food, use a cooler with wheels! And do bring food - plenty of time at intermission to put a little something together to eat. I reserved a table, which I really liked, but seeing the placement of other tables, I do think my family lucked out. Some tables were in high foot traffic areas or placed where viewing the stage was not ideal. As you cannot request a particular table (as far as I know), it appears to be luck if the draw.

The park has a coastline and home to many ships of various sizes. Enjoy the serenity of the place while watching the ships go by. You will find people doing different activities in the park. There is a draw bridge over the waterfront. It is amazing to see the bridge move up for ships to pass through and then back down.
There is also a very very beautiful flower garden. Take your time walking through. Tip to the guys: It's a romantic place to propose.

Portsmouth is one of the most historic places in the whole of the USA, and is worth a visit just for that. While you're there you must visit Prescott Park. We were there in the winter and it was covered in snow, but would love to see it in full bloom.

This is a beautiful park on the river bank! In addition to having some great gardens and a river walkway, there are many shows during the summer! There are moving nights, plays and concerts that are free (with a suggested donation.) They also have concession stands during the show season.

On the "Awesomeness" scale Prescott Park rates a 10. About 3 blocks from downtown, full of all sort s of music and related events during warmer weather, waterfront, spectacular gardens, and lots of open, green spaces to enjoy. A treat for all ages.
