  My daughter and I were at Portage Bay State Campground on March 11th, 2017. We went there to see if it would be accessible with my 34 foot travel trailer. It is not. At least not to my liking. Close overhead and side branches, narrow gravel road.
  That being said if I had a popup or tent I would go there in a heartbeat. On the lake several outhouses. Good sites with plenty of room, picnic table and fire ring.
  It is a beautiful spot and as are all of the State campgrounds in the Upper Peninsula.
