Omg,,,, best weekend getaway . Staff is wonderful and park rangers always close by
Enjoyed our first experience camping at Poplar Point. Sites are nicely spaced and screened with trees inbetween. Rangers were friendly and had our reservation ready at the gate. Spring flooding had limited the number of camping loops open. Lots of clean-up needs to be done before the full campground can be opened. We did experience power outages, but the campground sent repair folks within half an hour and had the problem fixed. The shower facilities could use updating. There are no benches and only one hook on the back of the door to hang things on.
Many sites have water views and some even have sandy beaches where you could launch a kayak or canoe. The campground has a boat launch facility and a beach which are limited to campers use, so they aren't as crowded as the larger beaches and boat launches locations in the park.
We walked the Poplar Point trail and enjoyed bicycling the roads in the park. We will definitely return and bring our kayak.
Loved my camping experience
I love being here with my family it's a great place to injoy the lake and trials with ease.
