Watched a good movie at a fair price with popcorn just how I like it. Nice place to spend 90 minutes.
Great staff, old time atmosphere and prices too.we went for the Rocky horror picture show ,what a great nite
Quant and intimate environment. Friendly staff. Numerous cultural events. Best fresh popcorn.
Awesome atmosphere. Rented a theater for a private girl's day. Great experience, lots of fun!
Somewhat of a hidden gem from my experience. Small theater with excellent sound. Inexpensive snacks.
This is seriously the best theater around. It has any excellent digital projector and good sound. It has really low prices the drawback being it doesn't have many movies playing at a time. It is never crowded. I saw Wonder Woman on opening weekend and there were at most 10 people in the entire theater.
Friendly, accommodating, and beautiful historic place. New high definition projectors and newly remodeled theater. Nicest in the Poconos anywhere
Quaint movie house and culture center, they show new and old movies, plus live shows
Beautifully restored theater now operated by a very community-oriented organization. Small screens, but there are many screenings of older movies many have never seen on "the big screen". Rarely crowded and the patrons are very respectful of the entire movie-going experience. A small cafe is housed in part of the lobby for coffee and talk. Great little theater with all the best intentions!
If you love movies, and you are looking for something beyond the mainstream, this is your place. Some of the big hits are here, along with old favourites, films from around the world, and independent ones. Don't miss the delicacies at the little cafe: the popcorn is made fresh with real butter, the hot chocolate with spices is a sin you mustn't avoid, and the sweets are provided by local bakers. This is cinema at its best.
Pocono Community Theater serves as a reminder that East Stroudsburg, PA, is a 'college town', a feat East Stroudsburg University has never managed. A purveyor of sophisticated, intelligent, films plus additional cultural contributions, the fact that this theater exists always leaves me wondering why the college consistently offers the community so little culturally. The offerings of this theater are more frequently commercial than when it first opened under another name, but they are still trying, and the chances of catching a first run intelligent independent or foreign film are still good.
The only place I see movies. Wonderful staff, GREAT snacks (real butter on the popcorn don't tell my doctor). Perhaps because of the discerning movie selection I have never seen a disruptive, texting, talking teenager here. Movies for grownups! You might check out the periodic live performances, revival screenings and other fun stuff.
