I wish I could give a zero star rating. I had an appointment at Planned Parenthood for STI testing. No symptoms or anything, just a casual testing for my own sexual health. My appointment was at 2:10pm and I had to pick up the girl I nanny, from school at 3:15. In typical doctor office culture, they didn’t get me in at 2:10, but closer to 2:30pm. They got my blood sample and my urine sample (which is all they needed for the STI testing), but I couldn’t stay long enough for the clinician to come in and talk to me because they got me in lateI just needed the testing done, not a conversation, so they rescheduled me for a couple days later.
The next day, I thought about how strange it was to have me come back in just to talk to a clinician, so I called them asking why I would have to come back in because they already got my blood sample and urine sample, and they said they discarded both of them because I didn’t have a conversation with a clinicianTHEY THREW OUT TWO PERFECTLY GOOD SAMPLEScompletely wasted them, because of a lack of efficiency on their end. They then told me it was policy to talk to a clinician. I am so livid that they threw out my samples and wasted my time. I have since gone to the Urgent Care which tested for more STI’s than PP does, (boo ya PP), but I can only imagine what would have happened if my samples were positive for something, and I couldn’t get back in soon enough for a retesting. It’s seriously so unacceptable and disgusting that this is how they treat their patients.
I had the best experience here. I had never been into a planned parenthood clinic before and I was just laid off unexpectedly 2 weeks ago. The clinic worked with me on payment options and everyone's attitudes were so beyond helpful and positive! I was in a lot of pain from an infection and they went above and beyond to help get me relief. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Working in the medical industry is stressful, super impressed and thankful for their service.
The person who initially took my information was amazing and helpful with tons of information. The second person (doctor?) was rushed, didn't explain her answers well and spent most her time talking over me. I'm sure the doctor is good at procedures but needs some help with bedside manor. If you have questions, try to get them answered by the nurses and front desk staff.
Amazing staff, really friendly and helpful. Great advice from nurse and doctor. Thank you for your service.
Everyone here has been so kind and helpful! Love them. The receptionist was a little cold at first but after talking with her a bit she opened up and was really sweet.
The whole experience was a let down. The front desk woman was rude and unhelpful about my insurance and prescription information. I went to PP because I recently moved here and my birth control prescription ran out. I was unable to find a new gynecologist in a timely manner so I thought this would be a good option. The provider barely spent any time with me, she seemed to be in a hurry. I asked her about switching to a different pill and explained my concerns. She gave no feedback or recommendation or information about different options, she just asked what I wanted to do. Since she looked like she was trying to get out of there as fast as possible I just stayed with the same prescription. I also had a blood draw which began to feel very sore later in the day. When I took the bandaid off the cotton ball was soaked in blood and I have a quarter sized bruise around the needle site. I have never had this happen. Now I need to find a real provider to visit! After this experience, I would not recommend Planned Parenthood to anyone.
I am only giving them three stars because I support this organization and what they do to help and empower women. Although, the front desk does not share the same values, they are very judgmental and rude towards clients.
Very rude Asian lady in the front!!! Be aware. Great place to get good advice on your health.
The clinicians were really nice and accepting. The receptionist was sort of rude. It seemed like she hated her job, which is the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars. They helped me with paperwork and provided me with so much information. I went in for birth control (the pill) and it took about 30 minutes to wait and turn in paperwork and get my free BC for a year :) then I went in the next year and got another year free, including Plan B pills and condoms and free STD tests. I honestly don't know what I'd have done without them.
