  The owners are immensely kind, and the land is gorgeous too. I loved camping here and hearing whippoorwills at night, and all the songbirds in the morning.

  Since you decided to post something like this, why did you leave most of the story out? After years of being there, supporting your campground, dealing with all the problems, yet still believing that it would get better, you decide to not renew their lease, after they put most of the summer and a couple thousand dollars into their lot, then lay all the blame on them... So wrong of you. The in- efficient electric problem, they tried to make do with a generator, which costed you nothing to run, and yet you had a problem with that, and them complaining about their septic being full or not having water pressure, you for some reason take offense to, well you are the owners, you will always hear compliants from your customers. When you don't want to hear them, you simply say "go home if you don't like it", which is very unprofessional, and so is you saying " this is my campground and I will do what I want" and will naturally put people that have supported you on the defence. And we all did support you, we paid our bills,which support you. I personally lost, in my 8 years there, 3 refrigerators, 2 power inverters, and 2 A/C compressors in my air unit, which I never made a fuss over or turned repair bills over to you.
  Yes you hurt feelings, and upset people... Over you being tired of the complaints. Yet you posted your story so you feel better without all the truth. Not very " Christian " like.Your loosing good people, and a lot of money is going out the gate. Please Dave and Sandy, be decent and also respect those who have supposed you for the three years you have run Pioneer.

  Took an overnight stay at Pioneer, Nice, peaceful and quiet.
  A great place to bring the family and not pull you hair out wondering what the kids are up to. All the kids and people there were friendly and well behaved.
  This is not an rv park, this is camping. No WIFI, arcade or water toys... a good place to disconnect from the mayhem that's everywhere else.
  If you carry a world-band radio the reception is fantastic. I tuned-in stations all over the globe and enjoyed for hours on end with little interference.
  I stayed in the tent/pop-up area near the shower-house. Good place to enjoy nature or open up a Popular Mechanics Mag and read without distraction... maybe bring an old blanket and have a picnic by the pond or play Frisbee. A lot of people were swimming and having a good time.
  The area is filled with deer and if I was a little better prepared I could have caught some awesome snapshots in the morning.
  So the facilities are basic and basic by design. The shower house is dated, but functional.
  Some roads were paved, others are gravel. The tent/pop-up area had both grass and gravel sites.
  Be sure to bring a card table and camp chairs. My site was electric/water.
  Sewer may be available on other sites... I'd call beforehand.
  There is a playground for children, volleyball net and horseshoe area in the park.
  The real plus is having family time and plenty of room to play in a safe environment that is not so structured you feel imposed upon. People there were so considerate the
  institutional, constant surveillance and park supervision were just not needed for the rules to be adhered to.
  This is a family owned and operated park and do call them on your way in because you will most likely find them at work in the park and not in the office.
  Fire wood is available in the park.
  Sunday service is in the recreation hall between 10am and noon Sunday morning. The gate-house is closed between those hours, so if you're checking in on Sunday, be sure to get there before or after services.
  I did get a chance to tour the park with one of the owners prior to staying there and can tell you that they hold the park very close to their heart. They are trying to improve the park whilst staying true to their parent's vision of keeping the campground a nice simple retreat...
  And that's what they are... a nice, quiet place to kick back on a weekend.
