If your deductible is high, then what’s the point of having health insurance? Insurance companies are geniuses, it doesn’t matter what plan you choose (low tier or high tier) the math stays the same. The low tier plan is something like $10k deductible plus $5k a year’s worth of insurance premium. You would think you can outsmart the insurance company by choosing the top health plan right? Nope. You have to pay a higher premium $10k a year plus $3000 deductible. In fact, they ...
Continue ReadingRandom thoughts of the day. I've been hearing a lot of high schoolers bragging about their IQ. This is what I told my younger siblings. Here's my take on it
IQ is like math and logic smart. Rational thinking. But people can be irrational sometimes and you need to get along with them even if there is conflict in ideas. Learn empathy (knowing how people feel, you get inside their head and experience how they feel) which is very different than sympathy (which is like you are fee...ling bad for the person). It’s not about you, it’s about how others are feeling, that’s empathy. Once you master that, it will help you so much in life. People call that EQ, emotional intelligent.
Human species thrive because we can collaborate with each other. We are a social being. In caveman era, IQ is like one guy vs a mammoth. Whereas, EQ is like a group working together vs a mammoth. Collaboration is what makes us human unique in the animal kingdom 😁

See MoreWith the year 2017 coming to a close, I’d like to share with you guys what to expect starting next year. Remember to file your tax early! I made a mistake and waited til Oct to file my tax. Continuously reminding myself to file tax from Jan to Oct is not something I want to do next year.
Remember to have all your medical and drug expense receipts ready because those things are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Very important!! You can get back an additional $200 or more just by having those r...eceipts!
If you are insured, expect your copay to be ridiculously high at the doctor office and at the pharmacy in the spring. No, the doctors and pharmacies are not trying to rip you off. Your copay is high because your deductible resets at the end of every year. You have to pay for the deductible again before your insurance can cover your medical/ drug expense.
If you will be uninsured next year or can’t afford the high deductible, don’t worry. I’ll talk about this on my next post. I’m a pharmacist and am uninsured at the moment to start up Pill Cloud Pharmacy. Drug price is like prices on clothes you see at the mall…overly inflated price tag that goes down when you know how to shop around.
