Description
As an effort to provide additional revenue, Pickens Animal Rescue (PAR) opened a used furniture and household item thrift store in Jasper. By giving the community a place to take their tax-deductible donations, the proceeds directly impact the health and future of our unwanted Pickens County pets and the stability of this productive and successful rescue group. The volunteers working at the Pickens Animal Rescue Thrift Store are able to sell the donated items, providing additional income to aid in caring for the 75+ dogs and cats in their daily care. The budget for PAR continues to climb each year as the demand for their service grows; unfortunately, personal donations are down due to economic changes in our society making PAR think of alternative ways to increase their resources.
