I would come into this office with a bit of healthy skepticism. I came here a couple years ago and was quoted a price of around $2k for cavalries on a single side of my mouth, and the opposing side would be even more. This caused me a lot of distress because although I could afford it, I would prefer to keep my savings as high as possible. Upon recommendation of my boyfriend at the time I sought another opinion. I actually sought 2 other dentists for their opinions on the work recommended and their eyes bugged out of their head when looking at the treatment plan printed out for me. While yes I do have a lot of tiny cavities they both stated that it wasn’t recommended to go in and fix every tiny thing and it could even make it worse by doing that. They both recommended I brush with a prescription grade fluoride toothpaste as minor cavities have a chance of remineralizing or at the very least just not getting any worse by using the stronger toothpaste and following good dental hygiene. This experience made me feel like I was not getting the full story from this office. I ended up spending $200 total at my now new dentists office and that was the only work he recommended at that time. It’s been approximately 2 years now and I have no issues.
The office was impeccably clean, wait times minimal, friendly staff, and the office had newest technology. Hmmmm….I wonder why…. The dentist is also incredibly smart, however I feel he uses his knowledge for his business over perhaps what the patient truly needs at that time. Of course different dentists are going to have differing views, as some like to nip minor cavities and other problems before they can get worse. However I do feel as though patients should be able to make informed decisions on all actions that can be taken.
I have been coming to Phantastic Smiles for maybe around 20 years. 16 years ago, I got a composite job done on my tfront tooth after I chipped half of it off as a child. This was supposed to be a temporary replacement, but has lasted 16 years so far and holding up well! To give an example of this, it is like getting a Toyota and driving it for 800k miles.. Toyota's are good cars, but even they shouldn't last more than 400k miles or so... this is the best analogy I can give for the quality of Dr. Phan's work.
Also, I had 3 wisdom teeth removed in one appointment. You know all the horror stories about wisdom teeth removal? Well this is the opposite. It was a pain-free procedure (I was actually awake for the whole thing, even though I was numb). I rested the rest of the day and went to work the next with no problem. It is possible that my experience has been fortunate, but nonetheless proof of the consistent and solid work of Dr. Phan and his team.
I would also like to add that several staff in his office have been there over a decade, which is evidence of a strong, united, highly-professional and experienced team.
Best dentist team in town, no doubt! I have not received any compensation of any kind for this review and write it out of my own good will.
I know it sounds odd to say you look forward to going to the dentist, but I enjoy my visits to see Dr. Phan! Dr. Phan is always up to date on the latest dental techniques and his equipment is state of the art. He and his staff really care for their patients and make sure they are well cared for and comfortable during their procedures. His office is a happy place full of smiles - no pun intended. I never hesitate to recommend him and do so at every opportunity! He and his staff are truly the best!
The staff super sweet and professional and Doctor is awesome too lol. Mara is amazing..
Dr.Phan and his entire team are wonderful! The office is clean and technologically advanced. They really focus on providing comprehensive care and pay special attention to all the small details. I was given a customized treatment plan, and they were transparent about what items needed to be prioritized first. My visits have been pleasant and efficient. I recommend Phantastic Smiles to anyone seeking superb oral care.
