While it certainly doesn't compare to the big slopes out west, Perfect North is a great place to go skiing or snowboarding. There's enough variety to keep you entertained for a few hours and a decent selection of food on the lodge. Now if only we got more real snow around here.
Chamonix it is not. But it's a good place to go every week with a high school ski club!
They just do it right here. The snow is always skiable even when the weather conditions aren't the best. Some how they manage to keep things perfect. We are lucky to have a place like this in the area. The food is reasonable in price so you don't feel as if you need to bring something. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have been skiing here for over 25 years and it get better each year.
For the location, Perfect North is incredibly good skiing! There are also great services for beginning skiers and families making it really welcoming for all. While it is expensive, I believe that the facilities make up for it.
Ski patrol are rude. I ended up on a hill that wasn't blocked and they wanted to take away my lift ticket. Block the run and don't be rude to your customers Ski Patrol! Not worth the money when you have a 400ft vertical drop and rude Ski patrol. Did you recruit the gastopo from Germany to police your ski hill? No need to come back this year. Go to Snowshoe or out west, this is not worth the money with the bad service.
Great place to do fun activities. Just did the Mud stash race, it was one of my favorite races. Looking forward to the skiing season.
My family and I try to visit here as often as possible. It is a little expensive, but is the only place locally for a great ski adventure. We have been skiing for several years now, and were quite surprised how simple it is! The lesson that they provide free of charge is plenty to get you up and going on the smaller slopes. We find that 6 hours of skiing is usually enough to wear us out, so the 8 hour ticket is more than sufficient.
Been here twice now for Spartan Races and the location is great. Plenty of hills, time in the shade, and some water. I've never been for skiing but as far as Indiana hills go it's pretty big and really nice.
Let's clarify that this is skiing in the mid-west. It's not powder and most of the time it's not even natural snow. That being said, Perfect North does a great job maintaining the grounds and they have ski patrol personnel scattered throughout the slopes to make sure people are safe. Overall, no complaints!
Over the years it's just gotten better. I was hoping my kid would like the tube runs, and she definitely did. They were actually a little faster than I'd even hoped super fun! Pro tip: bring headphones or earplugs if you, like me, are not a huge fan of pervasive modern country music played on the park loudspeakers.
A ski resort nearby? Lucky us! They do a great job making snow and grooming it, friendly staff, fun place to be outdoors during winter, go snow tubing or come hang out on the deck with a hot beverage and some food. Open till 1am on Fri. and Sat. nights. Great ski shop with knowledgeable people to custom fit your boots, good choice of gear for ski and snowboard. Free beginners lessons for your first time there. Fun for the whole family.
Great experience! 60 degree weather with snow on the ground, crazy right! This was my first time skiing. After several crashes, it was decided that the FREE lessons offered was a good idea. I want to thank Tom for saving my life lol! He taught some very basic techniques that kept me in control of my speed, stopping, and turning. I didn't even fall again! We had so much fun!
Very nice slopes for the Midwest. They are well groomed and the staff is nice. They can be a little icy, but that's what happens when most of the snow is man made. Being able to snowboard late into the night is awesome.
Downside is it's a little overpriced and you spend most of your time in line or on a lift for the 60 seconds it takes to complete a run.
