Stopped in for a double espresso and the famous coconut cake. We were not disappointed! A flavorful treat to end a wonderful evening!

Had dinner with my husband here in December and it was an amazing experience. The food is wonderful, the wine list is great and the service is some of the best. The lobster 3 ways is something not to miss as are the grits with speck.

Had an incredible meal and dining experience at Peninsula Grill. Johnathon and the whole team delivered such great service. Wine list is second to none and the food was amazing. Will definitely return when in Charleston again.

Great meal and service. My wife and I really enjoyed our visit. Definitely a place to go to for a special occasion or just a great meal.

We had a great table given to us by Morgan and Laurent was a superb waiter especially concerned since my fiancee was allergic to garlic and onions. Even the Maitre de was involved. The food was delicious'! Thank you!

One of the best--and for good reason. A+. Excellent! This very upscale classic restaurant lives up to an outstanding reputation with excellent wines, fine dining, and sharp service. Tucked away at the back of a hotel, the Peninsula Grill feels like a secret find with a clubby and classic vibe. Our server made excellent recommendations and was assisted by an attentive and friendly staff. From the great wine to the amazing food--this is a memorable place that belongs near the top of the list for Charleston. This is fine dining and priced accordingly. Not that big, so be sure to get reservations in advance.

Great food can make any place good, but incredible service sets restaurants apart. Charlie blew us away from the moment we arrived. The service was world class, and the food amazing.

We just picked up two slices of 12 layer coconut cake to go. Cake was good. Place looked nice while we were waiting for our cake.

Most recently (of five visits spaced out over as many years), I have noticed that while their technique, and service have not flagged at all their flavors and menu have started to lag behind other fine dining options in Charleston. The staff are world class, but I'm hard pressed to think of a reason why well cooked, yet flavorless, meat warrants these prices. In a word, the food has become boring.

We sat 20 minutes without a word spoken to us. Never a menu description, nothing! Our waitress then haphazardly came to our table and we ordered. She then came back to table about 5 minutes later asking us what we ordered. It was a complete shambles. At that time, we nicely requested another server. After our request, the 1st server had the audacity to confront us asking what she had done wrong. Dana, the new server, came to the rescue and did a fabulous job. The management never once said sorry or even recognized the total debacle. The terrible service appeared to be going on at whatever tables our 1st server had. She never appeared on the floor again. Basically ruined our meal and made us feel uncomfortable. When the food reached out table it was excellent. The service started out so bad, it couldn't even redeem what had happened. I never write bad reviews. Since the management did not even have the respect of acknowledging what had gone on, I felt compelled to do a review. I felt like I was on a television show getting a trick played on us. If I was rating the food, I would certainly give it 5 stars, but the entire experience and the way it was handled is why I am giving it a 1.
