Today, we remember Nurse Julie. She was a faithful employee of PA for over 20 years; helping countless families through times of concern and worry, serving patients in the office with care, and bringing joy and friendship to our workplace.

Julie passed away after a courageous and admirable battle with pancreatic cancer. Please join us in thinking of her family, friends, and loved ones in this difficult time.

Maddening. Washington Post goes deep into the history of the Rock N Play. It's not pretty.

Proud to have a PA doc featured as an advocate. KC Kids Doc

This is no means indicates that media exposure causes ADHD. In kids with genetic predisposition to have an ADHD-brain, however, this is more evidence that media may exacerbate or amplify inattention and focusing issues.

"A recent study published in the journal Society and Mental Health adds to the knowledge about why suicide contagion occurs. And it spotlights a common mistake that people may make when a community experiences suicide."

"Parenting is full of decisions, nearly all of which can be agonized over. You can and should learn about the risks and benefits of your parenting choices, but in the end, you have to also think about your family preferences — about what works for you."

Set your DVRs for this FRIDAY at 7 PM.

Ms. Sawyer compiled an impressive array of experts and families to have a proactive and important discussion on screens. The good, the bad, and the unknown will be explored -- looking forward to joining all of you watching.

“Experiencing gives you a ‘first’ person perspective. You see others while you act. Watching gives you a ‘third’ person perspective. You learn something about how others see you. I’d say this would ‘add’ to the memory … which in a sense is a kind of reshaping.”
