Everything was 40-50% off today due to store closing. Got some cute shoes for my kids. Only saw one employee but she was friendly and helpful.

Is there something less than one star that i can give them? I am a foster parent/grandparent for three of my grandchildren, 10 yr, 7 yr and 1 yr. I live on a very limited budget and noticed a sign outside of the store on Saturday June 10 stating going out of business. I went inside with the kids to get the older girls some shoes for the beginning of this coming school year. the worker, I believe Elma or something like that greeted us nicely, and stated that shoes were 20 to 40 percent off depending on the shoe, but not the clearance. I found two pair of Airwalk ankle-like boots that the girls liked and the boots were on clearance for $15.00; I thought, wow I can afford that, and the girls would be happy. when i took them up to the counter it took the worker (Elma?) ten minutes to come up to help us. then when she rung the first pair up I notice the price of $49.99; i informed (Elma) that the boots were on clearance for $15.00; and she said loudly, no they are $49.99, i showed her the clearance sticker on the shoe box and she (Elma) ripped the sticker off the boxes and said that the boots were $49.99. I said but the sticker says $15.00 (Elma) said no its wrong they are $49.99, and that she could give me only 20% off. that would have made the price of one pair more than the price of both at the clearance price i told her...i then told her to keep them and left the store with my sad, upset granddaughters.....I will be calling the manager tomorrow when she is in.....i understand why they are going out of business, changing prices right in front of the customer...i am a grandmother trying to do the best i can on a very limited budget raising three grand children, PRICES MATTER!!!

Finally found the perfect wedge that was priced at $16 and when the cashier rang it up it was $34, we asked for a mgr and she just stood there. No help what so ever. Will not go back. You need to retrain your people.

I need a couple of pair of new dress shoes to take on an upcoming business trip. I arrived at this Payless location about 10 minutes before their posted opening time. That was over a half hour ago and I've been sitting here watching potential customers park, walk to the entrance, shake a locked door, peer through the front window, then get in their cars an drive away with no shoes. Five cars so far. Plus me makes six customers lost. This is not good business practice. I finally gave up waiting after 45 minutes and went to Famous Footwear.
