I have worked with 3 graduates 2 from Jessup 1 from Fredrick. Very sad these students CANNOT DO HAIR CUTS OF ANY SORT.
I’ve been in the business since 1985. They need to FOCUS more on HAIRCUTS and not so much on Color techniques since they change with the times. They need to TEACH good basic hair cutting. Then you’ll be able to do any hair cut.
I would NEVER SEND or pay $20,000 for that type of worthless education. This is so sad it breaks my heart. I’m now working with 2 students that run from haircuts.... because they can’t do them.

DONT GO HERE! The staff discriminates against whites and the owner hates military families. He actually said they are no better than anyone else and don't deserve to be treated differently. If I could give negative stars, I would, but in order to write review, you have to give at least one.
This experience was awful. I was very hopeful that since it is a paul Mitchell enterprise it would be nothing less than great. It started with the wash which was very rough, it felt as if my hair was being pulled out. Yet at that time the young lady was pleasant and I wanted to give her a chance. As I sat in the cutting chair the young lady doing my hair had several conversations with her peers. I do not mean hi and bye, but discussing test scores and possibilities that the test was rigged. That only encouraged more of her peers to chime in. At a moment she even stopped cutting my hair. I sat there for about 30mins before I realized this is a service I'm paying for and I can't sit here any longer. She continuously combed my hair, I understand that yes it is apart of cutting and necessary to do but this was too much to the point of when I left I was nauseas. I told her 3 times I have to leave and she called her instructor over. The instructor told her it was correct and gave her a few tips even stepping in and cutting my hair herself which was very professional of her. It was a $8 wash and cut and I tipped $5. This was nothing like I expected and I will never return.
The fumes in this place overwhelmed me. The lady at the counter was really nice. The hairdresser did a pretty good job. Overall definitely worth trying.
The fumes in this place overwhelmed me. The lady at the counter was really nice. I've been waiting for 10 minutes for me to be called for my scheduled appointment.
When I walked in I felt the positive energy. I needed to get my roots colored and I got it done professionally with the two Vanessa's. had a great experience thank you
Good luck trying to make an appointment, or dealing with the receptionist bad mood. I'll gladly keep on going to the one in Rockville.
Paul Mitchell School in Jessup is the best. Not only did my hair come out beautiful, the ladies are gorgeous. I walked in with a hat and I walked out without it. I love my hair and it feels so much better. My hair was dry, breaking off badly, and terrible. Darra fixed that problem and did a excellent job on my hair. The instructor is very professional as well as the women stylists. If anyone has a bad review, I know for sure its out of hate. Congrats to Darra on graduating next week. It was so nice to meet you and you are an artist. Thanks for reviving my hair. I am definitely coming back of course.
I always have a good experience when I get color and hair cut. My daughter also started coming here after I told her how satisfied I was.. Adrianna did an excellent job today. I am definately coming back.
Wonderful experience! This was my first time here. Brezzi did a great job. She listened to what I wanted for my cut and checked in with me throughout to ensure she had cut to the correct length. I will definitely be coming back!
I have been going to Paul Mitchell for about 2 years. I would HIGHLY recommend their services! The services I receive (usually color, highlights, cut, shampoo, and blow dry) are very affordable in comparison to other salons. I normally buy some of their product on every visit too (their shampoo/conditioner is truly the best). My total cost (including a generous 20% tip) is usually between $120-140. You cannot go anywhere else and get that type of great service for that price. I have always been happy with the students. I have never had a "bad" one. They don't allow it, as their line leaders always check throughout the process to make sure you are happy. If you are not, the line leaders fix it on the spot. The only downside is the amount of time you spend there. Since they are students, and have to have their work checked, you will spend between 3-5 hours if you are getting the same type of service I get. For the amount of money I save, the extra time I spend there is worth it. I usually schedule my appointments for a Saturday morning when I don't have any other commitments. That way I am not worried about being rushed for time. If you are looking for an affordable salon that offers excellent services, product, and customer service, then the Paul Mitchell School in Jessup should be your first choice! :)
