  Chicken Fried Steak- breading was very light/hardly any. Steak was tough. Needs to be tenderized more. Gravy minimal flavor. Potatoes over cooked an excessive onions and peppers. Eggs were the best thing about the whole plate
  
  Uncle Mikes Red Neck Benedict- Scratch made Herb Biscuit was great. Handmade sausage patties are a good way to go.
  
  Cost- Over priced for the amount of food you get. Example $3 for a small 8oz glass of milk?
  
  Atmosphere- fun and quaint decor. Hometown feel.
  Staff- friendly and attentive
  
  Most likely won't come back. 2 star is generous since we can't give half stars.

  We were excited to try this place based on the "best omelette in town" reviews, but the Mediterranean was so gross. The appearance was like asphalt mixed with mold; no discernible egg; overwhelming olive juice; mushy spinach; no tomatoes. The scrambled eggs were overdone and excessively salty. Pancakes were okay, but the syrup is a label-free bottle of high fructose corn syrup from the dollar store. The herb biscuit was so dry and tasted like expired flour with a splash of cheap herbs thrown in. Expected better quality given the star-rating. Sorry, Patty. (Thumbs up for the real half & half for the coffee!)

  I was excited to go try Patty's Off-Center Cafe for the first time. I went and ordered the biscuit and gravy. We went when they first opened in the morning, so it wasn't too busy yet. When my food came I saw there was a hair on the plate, I was going to just pull it off and eat around that area. However, it was a long hair running all the way through, buried deep under the gravy. When I told the server about it, she just replied with "ew", and took the plate away. It took a little while for them to come with a new dish for me, but when it came it was all fine. However, they didn't apologize for the hair, and they didn't offer to comp my meal or anything. I won't be going back, if this is the type of service offered.

  Patty's is the best breakfast spot in town. I know there are die hard WOM fans, and I am too but at the end of the day Patty's is simply a better dining experience. I can talk all day about the great breakfast spots in the Salem area and each of their unique fine qualities as many reviews here can as well, but I'll just cut to the chase. When you think about that small diner experience with breakfast and a warm cup of coffee with that equally warm atmosphere Patty's consistently delivers. There are many places serving breakfast and only a few have the small diner feel, and of those Patty's is the best for consistent high quality food. I totally understand if you are a die hard WOM fan and can't get to where I am, but I think we can all agree these two hold the title of best breakfast in the area and then we can split hairs over where you go if you can't get a table at either of these. Thank you Bob and Patty for providing such a great atmosphere and service to all of us in the Salem area.

  Good food, very friendly staff! Not the best food you'll find, but certainly better than most! Comfortable atmosphere.
