Consistently quality seafood and great sushi. Have been a fan for many years. Alan and Chris at the bar seem to know I am having the hurricane with extra cherries..and these are not the horrible red cherries. these are Luxardo cherries - dense and chewy with a sweet-tart flavor - very expensive - the devil is in the details. Back to the food: you are given an option of a side dish for every entree - these daysSO many restaurants charge for the sides so this is very refreshing- the mac & cheese-oh my. can never finish it - you can also order it (with an upcharge) with lump crab meat. the sea bass is the freshest too - whoever said "they know fish and it wasn't the freshest" should talk to the chef - they fly the fresh fish in daily - seriously - "experts" like that should stay home!!
Super friendly staff, great service and awesome food, what more can you ask for.
Came here for a date night with my wife I was very disappointed. Started with the Captain Crunch sushi roll - 3/10. Was very well presented, but the taste did not meet up to expectations. Hardly any crunch and flavor. Moving on to the entrees - My wife had the Fisherman's Wharf Cioppino - everything was over cooked and the taste wasn't really there. Definitely not worth the price. I had the Mahi-mahi with a side of Mac n' Jack. The fish was okay and a bit dry, and the Mac n' Jack tasted like store bought Velveeta Mac n cheese. Gross!! Usually, I finish all my food, but i had to put this to the side. Lastly, the service was good. Our waiter was friendly, though he was a bit pushy to order the most expensive items on the menu.
Overall, ambiance was nice for a date night. Food was not good and definitely not worth the price!
Second visit gets 3.5 stars due to the poorly made Gumbo they have on the menu. The sauce was too dark, burnt tasting gravy with no flavor. I feel like if a dish is getting the same complaints then it needs to be removed from the menu and revamped. I will be more than happy to taste once the Gumbo is made right. I suggest the chef and managers try Cheesecake' Factor's Gumbo and go from there. Other than that, Passion Fish is still a good restaurant to visit. The server was nice, the manager was attentive and understanding to the Gumbo complaint. My beet salad was great and the squash soup was pretty good. The 4 saka for $10 was a nice tasting experience.
I've gone out to eat and ended up taking the waitress home before. Still would rate Kenny higher. Worth every penny.
This is a high end seafood experience. We really enjoy the Chilean Sea Bass (they serve it whole but are happy to debone it upon request). We have never had a bad meal here. I highly recommend reservations as it is quite busy especially on weekends.
The setup is great and the food isn't bad. I don't think their sushi is the best in town, but other options were good. A bit pricey, but the quality of service, and overall setup are worthwhile.
I went there super excited but creative sushi & fusion delights but only to be let down by overpriced mediocre dishes. We ordered a sushi dish & a a couple others that intrigued us. The sushi was not very fresh, and I know fresh fish from living in Japan. It appeared that they used the sauces to cover up the freshness of the fish. And the food lacked flavor, it was seasoned with plenty of salt that day. I hope this was just an off day for them, because it did not make sense to me with all the ratings & reviews.
I'm a huge fan of this restaurant group and also a seafood fan so Passion Fish is a win for me. I can't give it 5 stars because I like it, don't love it. It's an experience and the food is great. I definitely recommend going there, especially for lunch as they have (had, I'm not sure if they do all the time) lunch specials depending upon the day of the week. The seafood gumbo type meals are great and I like that you can have the fish cooked a variety of ways. I went there for a birthday and the chef was kind enough to come out for a moment to say "hello." Yes, you shouldn't expect that, but it's quite nice that they've done it, never hurts to ask.
Came here for a company event -- decent food, good drinks, and friendly staff.
Very well done for such a large restaurant. Conveniently located in Reston Town Center and dependable for repeat visits.
The shrimp was really good. Aside from that the waiting staff was very unprofessional. My fiancee begged for the check. Went to Jackson's where the service was on point.
Incredible food, wonderful service. This is an amazing place for a date or business meeting. Fresh and innovative seafood and sushi. A little expensive but worth it
Reston food is fairly generic. Passion fish is one of the few that does it right. A bit busy and loud and pricey, but for the area one of the better spots with innovative and tasty seafood dishes
