This used to be my goto hospital . Not anymore I did something to my back last night and have had previous back issues from surgery to week stays in the hospital due to it ... this is the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire back problem history ..and the doctor that I seen for Less than a minute decided that all I needed was to be pumped up with pain meds .and sent on my way .. not only did the pain meds not get rid of or help my pain. But he didn't even do any test! No xrays nothing ... didn't even listen when I was describing what happened ...you would think if a patient told you she felt and heard a pop I. Her lower back and then had almost immediate severe pain from her lower back down her butt and all the way down the leg the least that have could have been done is an xray.. NOPE dope am up and ship am them out ... I only waited in waiting room for 20 mins and was in an ER room for 5 hours .. seen Dr for Less than a minute twice when I first spoke I told him who my regular back Dr was ... three hours later when he came back to question y I was still in pain. I asked if he had spoke with my regular Dr (he normally admitted me and then does test and a shot directly in my back ) he did not even attempt to contact my reg Dr I had to demand it ..and by the time he did my reg Dr was in surgery and now I have to follow up with him ... to bad has no openings for 6 weeks ...ugh

New Building Is Beautiful. Staff are so healthful, and compassionate about each patient, they deserve a daisy recognition.

I have nothing but praise and gratitude for every person and every experience I have had with Palos Health. I am a very healthy person so I don’t really need to utilize their services except in case of an emergency. My husband got hit in the head with an ice skate and knocked out. I drove him here and they took care of him like he had come in through an ambulance service. No waiting. No paperwork. No delays. No hassles. They had to do stiches but then they went above and beyond and they also performed a very extensive neurological exam to make sure that he didn’t have a brain bleed or anything. They were great. We also gave birth there and that was also a great experience. So, 10 stars from us.

Do not be deceived by the remodeled facility. The care provided from the ER to intensive care to a regular room is deplorable. The staff overall is uncaring and incompetent. Recently had a family member receiving care for an emergency issue. The doctors on staff are "Hospitalists" who have no background history on the patient, they are supposed to act as the attending physician coordinating care among the other specialists. They did nothing. The result was that my family member received the wrong medication and underwent a procedure that should not have taken place due to their condition. These actions caused major damage. Stay away from Palos, it is a death trap.

Well...maybe the experience we had with inappropriate actions done to my father have changed some as it pertains to my Mom & possibly others. She has had 3 good experiences herself including most recent-so far. I am writing as she does not have a computer. While ALL are human first, some have more ineptitude than others. The fact is some go the extra step where others will not or do not. This is a general FACT in society. While in ER with Mom, myself & child our treatment was decent. Mom has said she likes the care they previously gave her so far, also the food service. We are waiting on further testing.

The birth of my child was done at this hospital. My overall visit was very relaxing and also I enjoyed the amendities after birth, and the kindness of the staff during my time there. I recommend to any one in the suburb area to seek delivery here if a choice of location is a option.

Had my baby here and they are so wonderful! I plan on having all of my Births Here actually. Special thanks to my favorite nurses: Tina, Michelle, Elise and a couple of more girls. Food could be better but other than that, I had a great 2 day experience in labor and delivery. :-)

Let me start off by saying that the nurses at Palos Hospital, particularly the ones in the out patient area, are truly amazing and wonderful people. I can not praise them enough. I have trypanophobia, which in simple terms is an irrational fear of needles and/or injections. Due to my medication I need a blood test every 6 months. I have horrible anxiety during these test. I shake, cry, have a hard time breathing... The works. I've even fainted a few times. Nothing helps ease my anxiety. I've tried everything. And nothing helps in the slightest.

Its embarrassing and I hate it but I can't help it. Every other hospital I've gone to has only made the already stressful experience worse. That was until I started going to Palos. They made a huge difference, more than I can describe.

The nurses there truly care and have consistently helped ease my anxiety to a manageable level. They are angels and I can't thank them enough for being so understanding towards me. I 100% recommend Palos Hospital to anyone who shares my phobia or any anxiety for hospitals. These nurses truly care and make everything so much better by simply being the compassionate and understanding people they are.

I had Gallbladder surgery on April 21, 2017. It was all of a sudden. From the ER,to the CDU floor, to surgery, and back to the CDU floor, I had a remarkable experience. Everyone was incredible, helpful, and caring. From the doctors, the nurses, and the cnas, I can honestly say they are the best. I want to thank all of you that helped me through my bad experience.Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

Waited in a 1/3 full waiting room for 3 hours; got into the triage room and waited another 1 1/2 hours and a doctor never even checked to see what was going on, all the while 10 nurses sat behind the desk area, laughing it up and having a great time. In the meantime on a computer screen in the triage room, there was a picture showing a mouth with a finger to it saying, be quiet, there are sick patients. Your staff should certainly adhere to it or get off their butts and try to help people. After 5 hours we finally got up and left, went to the front reception area and told them we were leaving. They then called back to the triage area where a doctor stated that he had just gone into that room and the patient had left. The receptionist said, the patient is right here. Well, isn't that convenient? We walk out, the receptionist calls back and gets a doctor on the phone who says they just went into the room. Don't insult my intelligence. He most assuredly did not go into the room. Secondly, and most importantly, your triage rooms are disgustingly dirty and there were used receptacles of ultra sound gel just laying on a cart. I wouldn't take my dog to your hospital for treatment. Palos used to be a very nice hospital. I would never go there again. I'd rather drive 50 miles to a better staffed and better kept hospital.

Excellent care in the emergency room, was seen within about ten minutes, was later admitted overnight. Not the greatest experience a couple of years ago, my opinion has changed. Dr. Cairo and Dr. Gandi are great, and every single RN I interacted with made a positive impact on my time there. CNAs were also solid. If I had to be hospitalized I'm glad it was here.

Clinically, they did their very best for my loved one. HOWEVER, they constantly insisted while my family member was unconscious, they were unaware of the things going on and SAID by NURSES around them. This is not true. Once awoken, everything that had gone on in the room was remembered and relayed to me. Do not expect patients cannot hear you talking about them. They do. And saying they are going to die, while they are physically trapped in in their own heads is pure torture. They should know better.
