This was our 3rd trip to the Oyster Bar since we found it last year. The food is fantastic, my wife loves oysters so she is in 7th heaven when we go there. This trip was different, the food was fantastic but the waitress was very poor. I normally leave a 20% tip but this time I debated between no tip or a small tip, I opted for a small tip of $2.00 normally it would have been $10.00. My wife suffers from early stages of Alzheimers so her ability to make quick decisions is poor. We ordered starters of Oysters for her and clam chowder for me plus I ordered crab cakes while my wife tried to decide on another item. I asked the waitress to go ahead and take care of other customers while my wife checked the menu. She eventually settled on clam chowder also. We had arrived at 12:30 was seated, was brought water.then ignored for what I consider too long. Other patron came in was seated and served quickly while we waited. Eventually the clam chowder and oysters were brought to the table, we ate and waited. Eventually our waitress arrived to take the rest of the order. The crab cakes and her chowder came. We ate and waited,. As other people were served,, we waited. Eventually we were asked if we wished coffee and dessert, we opted for coffee and dessert to go.. Coffee was brought and we waited. Waitress eventually came and took the order for dessert to go and asked if we wanted refill on the coffee we said yes and we waited, eventually the waitress came and said that they were brewing another flask of coffee. She brought refills and we waited. After taking other customers bills and clearing them she eventually came to us with the bill, I gave her the small change and a $100 bill, she left with the money and we waited. We finally was able to leave at 2:45. The bill was 50 plus dollars and I left a $2 tip. We will return as the food is great, and hopefully I can justify a 20% tip.
Wonderful anniversary dinner after recommendation by a friend. Pro tip - try to get a seat in the back room. Server will escort you through the kitchen, which is pretty neat and also conversation starter. Food and service were top notch. Definitely will visit again.
Clam chowder is fantastic! ! There were eight of us and every meal was delicious. Great atmosphere and wait staff.
Not one complaint, except that it's not closer to us . My husband said the clam chowder was the best he's ever had. Atmosphere, food, and service were all wonderful. Thanks to Brooke for help!
Really nice atmospherevery charming. Yummy parmesan oysters and cosmo cocktails! One of my favs in FW.
We enjoyed the outdoor seating. Inside looked very cozy and was quite dimly lit. Our table had the seafood melt and fish tacos which were both good. The melt was very creamy with cheese and had great pieces of scallops, shrimp and crab. The bread that was served was a fantastic sour dough and I can't wait to go back when it's a little cooler outside and try the clam chowder.
Great food, cozy atmosphere, good service. Try it you will like it.
It was busy they were pretty quick!! Salad bread soup wonderful! Main courses Baby Back Ribs Seafood au Graten and Scallops were really out of this world well worth the money!!!
The Oyster bar is a Fort Wayne classic. Cozy restaurant with a great selection on the menu. Prices are very reasonable. I have been going to the Oyster Bar for at least 25 years, my only wish is that they would update some of the menu selections to a little more modern preparation. I like oysters Rockefeller, but the menu is just a little dated.
Burger Tuesdays are the best!
Two dollar burgers on Tuesday for lunch with special addons that change each week and are delicious. The addons are $3.50, $4.50, and $5.50 respectively and are some of the most creative burgers I have ever eaten.
The food was excellent! The atmosphere and wait staff was warm and cozy. Great place, will definitely be back
Been here 7 times now and always seems to impress me. Best food in fort Wayne by far
This place made a seafood-disliker (me) enjoy oysters. Get them "casino", and don't forget the crackers and cocktail sauce. Unfortunately it's pretty cramped space-wise, so groups can be a little difficult to manage.
Best rack of lamb ever! Great service, delightful atmosphere. Thanks for a lovely evening.
