Most uncomfortable stay of my life. Lots and lots of rulesWe felt like kids sneaking in and out of our parents house. Not a place for Romance at all. Breakfast was weird I dont believe breakfast should be done in courses. I felt like I had to eat everything on my plate or I would get in trouble or the next course. Sorbet for breakfast, and weird custard not my thing. I could tell they were in the room after we left during the day.
I will say the house is immaculate and the owners are very polite, just not inviting. It was all very strange. We very much regret wasting a vacation at that place. But perhaps we just aren't bed and breakfast people.
Excellent quiet and beautiful location. Amazing hosts and staff. Great rooms with good beds. An overall excellent stay very happy to have been.
Very stuffy! For the price you pay too many rules! I wear orthotics and was not informed of their strict "no shoes in the house" however found it interesting Carl the owner was wearing his shoes at breakfast. Breakfast is served late ( 9 o'clock ) and DO NOT FORGET to remove the decorative bed pillows! They will enter and service your room even if you ask them not too. On the bright side, beautiful view, the company was nice, and they have a cute dog. I understand them wanting to take care of their property but it does not make for a comfortable environment. Especially that being the 4th B&B I've stayed in so I am going off of comparison. One last thing we didn't use the hot tub. Hearing about the fatalities from Sue was a bit unnecessary regardless of who's hot tub it was.
Great hosts, lovely setting, fabulous breakfasts
A phenomenal place. I will visit again.
Great place to stay top notch care and service and great people
Very comfy, really nice hosts who prepare an amazing breakfast. Also there is Chully, a nice and lucky dog.
My husband and I just spent a weekend here and it was lovely. Carl and Susan take wonderful care of the property and their guests! The room was cozy and spotless, with all the amenities you would expect at a hotel (even bathrobes!). Their 5 course breakfasts were amazing and getting to know them was a special treat.
It's kid-free, which we wanted, since we wanted a respite away from our kids, and pet free since their little dog doesn't play well with others (he's very sweet with people). You must take your shoes off at the door, but there are slippers in every size provided for you. They gave us wonderful advice on what to see and where to go and gave especially good restaurant recommendations.
All in all, Otters Pond is a gem and we hope to return next year. We are grateful to Susan and Carl for providing us with such a relaxing getaway
