Great atmosphere and the food was spectacular. Two large groups in our area took most of our server's attention and service was either slow or too much (our appetizer came with our entrees, but we didn't wait very long for the food. But, we waited about 30 minutes for the bill after we finished dessert and had to ask for it). Would definitely eat here again and asked to be seated away from any larger tables.
Food was good, wine list great with great recommendation from server. Recommend reservations if possible to be sure you get seated.
Hidden gem, of a restaurant close to the Federal Courthouse and the downtown Post Office. Excellent food and good wine list.
Vicente, our waiter was a professional. He didn't hover or ignore the table, with "relaxed " service.
The essence of a restaurant is the food, EXCELLENT!
The pasta was so overcooked it fell apart as I tried to pick it up with my fork. The marinara sauce had hardly any flavor. My plate had about a handful of pasta (Less than what my son had ordered off of the children's menu) and they charged me double the price. Overall: Pricey for terrible food and awful service.
We walked in last night (Sunday) w 9 people about 730 wo reservations. The hostess (young, long dark hair) working the front was incredibly rude -- once we told her we did not have reservations, she said she would not be able to seat us. We could see several open tables. We also told her we would be willing to divide into 2 tables. A waitress came to the front and started talking to her about seating us, and the hostess aggressively told the waitress to go do her own job. I asked the hostess how long the wait would be if we wanted to wait, and she would not answer the question. Setting aside the fact that they had open tables I asked how many customers they could seat at a time (thinking that a larger place will have more turnover and more opportunity to seat us), and she said she had no idea how many the restaurant could seat. I asked to speak to the manager on duty and she said there was not one. As I worked my way thru these questions she started giving us the names of other restaurants and suggested we go find one. My suggestion - there are several great restaurants within 4 blocks of this one - Id suggest going somewhere else.
We had a wonderful evening at Osteria.
Everything was fabulous. As soon as we were seated we were offered a complementary glass of Prosecco to celebrate our anniversary. Then Jenn, our server appeared - she was bubbly, delightful and added so much fun to our evening. The food was delicious and service efficient. The entertainment with Michael Umphrey on guitar and beautiful voice was occasionally assisted by diners. Andie from Oklahoma sang some duets. It was so informal, spontaneous and fun. The evening was memorable - we loved every moment and will return!!
I once loved this place, it was so good. Maybe it was an off night but it was just awful food the last time I ate there. It seems like a change of ownership it was so different from my other visits.
Came here for lunch with the wife. Soup was bland, sandwich was over toasted. Tomato sauce in my pasta dish was watery. For a downtown establishment, there are MUCH better options.
Both bartenders are great. This is one of the best itialian places in Santa Fe on par with more expensive places!
Great service, great atmosphere, and good cocktails. They make a nice martini. The food is usually very good.
Great food, great music, both live and recorded
The food was wonderful, the service even better. Or waiter was excellent very attentive, made suggestions that we spot on. Reasonably priced.
We came on a Saturday for brunch, had a reservation. After we were seated it took around ten minutes to get our water, way too long in my opinion. We then got the mixed drinks we ordered about five minutes after that and after THAT I finally got my margarita and the bread for the table. Throughout those first thirty minutes we wondered if the staff has forgotten about us, if we should leave or complain However, the last half of our visit went superbly. The eggplant dish I ordered was beautifully plated and well seasoned, with a mild and not too sweet marinara. The price was reasonable as well, considering the reputation of the restaurant. The service is what brings my rating down from from five to three stars. When you have a reservation you should never have this kind of slow service problem. Lastly, parking is hard to come by in this area so if you're visiting at a peak time, plan ahead, plan to walk.
I would eat here again. A comfortable dining experience. Attentive service, moderate prices, good food.
A marvelous experience with both heavenly food and excellent service! We've been here several time over 9 years and have never been disappointed.
The Franciscos will be visiting again in two years. We were here two years ago and we were so pleased to be back here at this wonderful restaurant. The lamb was magnificent. Our gluten free request was met without a problem. This place is wonderful.
Diego is just terrific.
If you are unable Santa Fe, NM you should definitely try this place. Taste the real Italian food taste like. Taste the freshness of the food. Service incredible. That's enough said.
Low quality for a high price.
Charcuterie, shrimp and mussels were not fresh.
The veal dish had salty rice.
Poor service.
My husband and I are definitely not going back to Osteria.
Good things: they had a piano player and the cannoli was very good.
