I graduated from OCC in 1959 with an Associates degree in Animal Science, when they still had a great Agriculture program.
Too bad there is no longer such a program, but when city slickers take over, Aggies bite the dust and a fine school became just another Liberal Arts community college surrounded by sub-divisions.
I went here for 3 years. Not only did it provide me with great classes towards my major, I was also able to learn some great skills from some very passionate professors.
The diversity of the age bracket was also a plus for me. I interacted daily with people from ~20-50 years old, giving me great real-world experience, as opposed to being with a bunch of other immature freshmen.
Overall 5 stars.
I was enrolled here for 3 years and never once had an appointment with my councilor (and trust me I was trying). I never got to take any of the classes that were relevant to my major and the teachers had no passion at all. The only reason this school gets a star at all, is because their campus is clean. Honestly just go somewhere else. Don't waste your time here.
International center staff doesn’t know to communicate with international students.. I have been sending emails as a returning student no one cares and no one reply’s back nvr select this college as your higher education
First time Freshman. So this is my first look at the place. It seems there renovating a lot of roads and buildings for the coming times. The decor has a bit of a homely feel towards the older buildings but a new age feel with the rise of the newer buildings.
Terrible place. Filled with hatred towards Americans. Get rid of the leftist biased professors.
I like. the school but need back salmon taco are delicious
The Worst school ever full of shame don't get me started on student aid dept and district when I called about my files goes to the voicemail. If your a conservative students your ridicule and shamed for standing up free speech rights. I thought school safe place express ideals. The self pace math staff they are rude to students talk down to us. I was force to pay out pocket even while docs were sitting in box. The dean of students is a joke like the president Harkins with handling all concerns. The district president grant isn't for brown act and education code if students can't express themselves on campus. When you research this college I learned .The Orange Coast College foundation program past is filled with corruption, . Instead a student is retaliated against for standing up for themselves and student rights isn't dignity or humanity. This salvage opportunities for students. I wasn't too surprise my shameful experience on campus and administration.
A nice college that is cheap enough to afford if you are on a lower income. The parking lots are massive here but beware as you can get stuck walking huge distances if you do not find a close spot.
Took a couple of classes here and was a great way to learn a couple of new skills. Parking can be a mess, but show up early and you shouldn't have much of a problem.
I find it very difficult to ask for help in the self-pace math room. Some people there who sit behind the desk seem very judgmental & prejudice (I say prejudice because if one of their "own" walks in it's easy to connect but as soon as an outside force they are not use to comes in they aren't the friendliest.) if you're not say, for example: Asian/ Caucasian. Some tutors make me feel mentally lower, like they seem like they are better/stuck up, like" What? you don't get it, maybe this isn't right for you, maybe you need to retake a lower math." It's like an automatic response from them..Seems like some of their methods and how they demonstrate are not very inviting. So quick to get you out of their sight. A few years ago there was some really nice tutors in there. Guess they moved on.Seems like the new staff would rather converse with their friends who work there then help..I'd really appreciate if Jamie Blair had a meeting with everyone who works there and to let them know how some* staff are projecting themselves. Plus, it's getting really loud in there when a bunch of coworkers of the same ethnicity came in it was like "WHAAOOHOOOO LET'S MAKE SO MUCH f******** noise who cares whose trying to study lets laugh at the top of our heads and eat lunch baby!!"which sucks when you have to be in there for x amount of hours to meet the enrollment requirement and are studying. Some people are hypersentive, like myself, and we can pick up on the slightest details. I wish the self pace math center was kind and nice like some of the tutors in the SSC. Some are just some should be addressed in my humble opinion. Then again this is my self-projection and I am just one person.duh. Thanks
The federal funding should be removed from this institution if they do not terminate the professor for the "rant" against the election and President Trump. They should be held accountable for the actions of their staff. There is no place for politics in a human saexuality class. Keep your private opinions to yourself and away from our students.
If zero was possible that would be the case. What kind of college protects a biased teacher over a student? Watch the video and read their backwards way of thinking. Enough said. Libel much? How about a dose of propaganda? As for YOU Michael Mullins, how can anyone take your rant seriously? Get those headphones out of your ears in uniform. If you can't follow military regulation then you have no place judging anywhere else. Police yourself. Not to mention union teachers reps should not be leaving reviews to up their ratings just because their buddy screwed up royallyRob Schneiderman.
