Had a great time eating, drinking and dancing everything was free bless the volunteersand everyone involved to help others, great band!
Nothing extraordinary. Rooms are adequate. Close to the water. Good if you are bringing or renting a boat. Pool is a plus. Overall a good place to stay on a budget in the keys.
-PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES-
These images are of the water at the Boat Dock at Old Wooden Bridge. So many bad things going on there for the $15 dollar a day being charged to pull/park the boat. The grass is so thick that on several occasions my Engine over heated from the grass.
The Rooms were pretty much clean, but there's hardly NO cooking or kitchen utensils. Once again the fee that's being charged for these rooms is pretty high they should have everything available to accommodate the tenants.
None of the bedroom or restroom doors have locks to them.
SORRY FOR THE REVIEW, BUT IT'S NOT RIGHT
Cute little place to stay in Big Pine Key. Easy going staff. Cabins are large and comfortable. Keep your boat in the water at the dock the whole time. Well lighted area and safe. The general store has pretty much everything you need. Cold beer, fuel, bait, food and ice cream. Key deer walk right up to your cabins and the No Name Pub is walking distance! Great food and atmosphere.
Just spent the last week there. Rooms were dirty, the grass outside was knee deep. Garbage cans were overflowing most of the week. Reservation were all screwed up. Mud pit full of grass they call a marina and the boat ramp is junk. New owners let this place go.
We've been coming here for years, actually 3/4 times a year. I do miss seeing JULIE, her son JOEY and I'll always have CHARLIE on my mind when I'm cutting squid. I understand that people buy things with good intentions, but this time around I've never seen all the sea grass as bad as it is here. The smell is atrocious truly disgusting.
We went birding in the back country on a 30 passenger pontoon catamaran. It was a great time and Capt Bill was very knowledgeable. This may become a regular weekly event, as of today (3/23/17) it was a one time thing.
Very pleased staying here, clean and plenty room for a family of 5. Nice to see the key deer and close to a near by restaurant.
Nice enough and in above local, off the beaten path. But, noisy AC, very weak wifi.
Pet friendliness a plus. We saw many key deer all around the cottage. I recommend buying bug spray from the little store there. Cold swimming pool, no place to go swimming in the ocean, and a weird smell by the dock a minus.
If you want to stay at a nice clean, well-kept cottage in the Florida Keys, then DO NOT STAY HERE. These rentals are the pits! The rooms are filthy. They do not have the wifi they claim to have, so you have to drive 10 min to the nearest library if you do not have your own data plan. We were originally told that the laundry was free (since a nearby laundromat had closed down). Then, in the middle of doing a load, they come in to post a sign stating $7 per load (can you say highway robbery!). They insisted that we pay even though the sign had not been posted. We refused! One cabin had a VERY noisy refrigerator compressor that kept that group from getting a good night's sleep. The office refused to do anything about it. They left three days early and were refused any kind of refund or discount because they claimed they couldn't rent the unit to someone else for the last three days. As soon as they left, they fixed the fridge and then rented it out to someone else.
