My husband and I stopped here on our Sunday afternoon drive and were pleasantly surprised by this little gem in Ottawa. We loved this museum and would recommend this as a great little “Day Trip” / “Sunday Drive” excursion. There’s a lot of great historical Kansas related information and awesome displays on second floor. We will definitely be back to see the next rotating exhibit on the main level.

This is a very pleasant museum! They have several wonderful permanent exhibits and very interesting changing exhibits. It's beautiful at Christmas time and wonderful for children.

Nice museum at the trailhead for the Prairie Spirit Trail and Flint Hills Nature Trail. Only disappointment was those staffing the place were more interested in their own conversation than my experience at the museum.

The first floor exhibit changes periodically, so you can count on seeing something different while you're there. The model trains are cool to watch going around the little town-sure to fascinate the kids! My favorite room is the school room with all the old desks.
