Parts counter had the parts. But, when i called to arrange for the return/replace of thE (NEW) faulty part, the service guy was arrogant on thr phone. That didn't change when i returned too the store. He made me feel like i wasted my 3 years of trade school! The new parry is in...... AND WORKING! I doubt i will shop or recommend at least the parts area of this business.
Ordered a new Carefree Awning from Ocean View as a replacement for our original RV awning which was 16 years old. Paid over $1600.00 for awning, hardware and installation. Awning was installed on 6/22/15. Awning looked so nice until we went to our site last weekend and from heavy rain, the entire awning is ruined. I personally went on Carefree website and it states that they recommend a middle Support bar for awnings over 17ft long. Our awning was 21ft long. Called Ocean view and they sent 2 men out to check and said its not covered as caused by heavy rain. We always opened our old awning April 1st when we open for season and it STAYED OPEN until we close for season around November 1st. Well Ocean View now wants almost $1300 to install and replace everything but wall hardware. Why did they not follow manufacturer recommendation to add middle support for 21ft awning. Called them this morning and the person I spoke to was SO RUDE. Blamed us for pitch of awning which was set by his installers. I have never experienced such poor customer service and will not be doing business with Ocean View again. My 3 month old awning is useless and we will figure out another way to either repair it or replace it. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NOT AT ALL CONSUMER FRIENDLY BUSINESS. Our original awning survived many storms with winds and heavy rain and even survived Hurricane Sandy a few years back. This is unacceptable but we have now had to face the fact that we wasted $1600 on an awning that didn't even last one season at our campground. Word of advice, find another RV dealer if you want a fair and honest experience.
