Mediocre hotel with no pool or gym but has a great view of the homeless camp across the street if you get an oceanfront balcony. They charged a resort fee which is charged after you check out which I later learned is for beach towels, business center use and other, none of which I ever used. Spent 4 days trying to get a recipe for that. The front desk attendants are nice but understaffed most of the time so you can expect to wait up to 20 minutes for help if there are others in front of you. Some guy off the street was using the business center for a conference call and the staff of the hotel wouldn’t ask him to move so I could use it to print some tickets and the front desk said they couldn’t print anything for me either so I went to the hotel next door and they were more than happy to help me out.
Bed, bathroom, and room were clean which was the only highlight of the stay.
The location is perfectly settled right so you can see the beach. It is not on the beach, that is two streets over where there are no hotels so this is still a good option. We had an issue with the water pressure being a little low. We also made a call to have someone come change the automatic brightness setting of the TV but they never showed up. There's a complimentary cookie in the lobby which was nice.
Ocean View Hotel is the finest boutique hotel in the heart of Santa Monica. Fantastic view of the ocean, you can walk everywhere: pier, 3rd St. Promenade, restaurants, etc. Recently renovated and immaculately maintained. Be sure to meet Joy, Carlos, Brenda & Sonny at the front desk. Poudy in housekeeping is the best. On my Holiday trips to Santa Monica, I always stay at Ocean View.
This is a very nice place to stay. The room was overlooking the beach and the pier. The staff was exceptionally friendly. We arrived early and parked our car and walked along the pier while our room was being prepared. We checked back in when the room was ready and the staff assisted in taking our luggage to the room. The view from our balcony was beautiful. The beds are great and the bathroom was very nice. I can’t stop talking about how great the staff was. I will definitely stay here again any time I am in Santa Monica.
Great public parking. Pricey, but as expected for the area
We stayed at Ocean View this past week, and it was wonderful! The rooms are spacious and very accommodating. Very clean! It's so worth it to spend a little extra to get an ocean view room! You can see the lighthouse and watch gorgeous sunsets from your balcony. The continental breakfast was good too, and the employees were very nice! I would definitely recommend this hotel!!
Upscale and very comfortable. Very convenient walking distance to Santa Monica Pier and beach area. Ist time in Santa Monica and loved it. Would consider going back off season
Just went for drinks. Super nice and clean. Loved it
Nice room, no drinks machine or anywhere to eat. Staff nice
nice hotel. visited a guest. have them call the lobby ahead as you need your own key card for elevator access
The staff was occasionally a bit rude. For some odd reason the door to our ocean-view deck was blocked off by a chair so we had to move the chair across the room just to access our deck. The facilities felt nice overall though, with a great view. Lots of overpriced snacks inside the room with no options if food in the hotel. The walls were not very sound proof.
It's in an excellent location and the prices are not absurd. We where two couples and they let us stay in a two double bed accessible dorm that was near the laundry room and was available that night. The staff was gentle and they have a parking lot.
Modern, comfortable rooms. Staff was very helpful and nice. Was upgraded to an ocean front view for being guest of the day which is a great promotion. Beautiful views however it was extremely noisy I was able to hear everything outside my room and screaming from the street throughout the night. Not something that the hotel would be able to change, but I found it to be an annoyance.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Staff was very, very nice and attentive. Very knowledgeable about the area and even provided us with a map of Santa Monica which was extremely helpful in getting around. Stayed for two nights room was very clean and spacious. The Santa Monica pier was just a short walk away, and the beach was right across the street.
