Great family.outing with tons to do here. They have campsites, as well as trails and many activities for the kids. There is a small museum inside with artifacts. It also has a small splash pad for kids.
There are boating ramps to put your boats in and parking for trailers. The price to get in is not bad either.response / report this review -

We camped here in the "C" Campground. Our site was right on the water. We could fish from there, and the sunset views were spectacular. Other Camp co-workers were friendly and helpful. The camp Rangers were attentive and seem to keep an eye out for us. The campsite was covered with gravel and the dirt was hard packed, I was glad that we had an air mattress. Sleeping on the gravel would be a little bit rough. Also was a little bit difficult to drive our stakes into the ground. Each campsite has a fire ring, which was a metal Circle that could be raised or lowered, including a grill attached.
It was nice that there was wood available on site for purchase. It's the honor System so you drop off a few bucks and pick up a few sticks / cords of wood.
They also have Yurts and cabins for rent, however those were not right on the water like the campsites that we were looking at. There are also hot water facilities, including shower and toilets. We saw a lot of campers with hookups to water.
We also saw that there is a small Splash Pad area, which was not yet open for the season. The hiking trails are easy to moderate in difficulty.
We caught one 2 lb fish on the strip in the lake. It look good enough to eat, but we threw it back.response / report this review -

This was a nice park to hike. It was great to be able to hike down to the water and sit by the lake. The ranger at the Visitor Center was very friendly and helpful.

They have bigger cabins here. At least 2 boat launch areas and multiple campgrounds. No generator use allowed. Adding 3 yurts for 2018 season. Archery range. Very close to town of Clarksville, which is nice. Oddly enough they do not allow swimming in Kerr Lakes???

My girlfriend and I went here Mon-Tues for a getaway and loved it! The waterfront campsites are gorgeous. There is a bathroom and shower area within very close walking distance. The area we stayed had nice distance and brush between campsites giving it a small feel of secludedness. The trails we hiked were well kept, easily followed and scenic with interesting historical side-signs scattered throughout. Easy to hike though with medium incline at parts. I recommend this place to casual campers like myself and the view to all who appreciate such things.

The park is beautiful. It's perfect for outdoor lovers. There is lots to do. Had an amazing weekend there. The campsite are well places, with lots of privacy, beautiful scenery and plenty of space for all your vehicles. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Stayed in a 'Red C' waterfront campsite on a short-notice overnight camping trip. Every person we interacted with from the Ranger at the gate to the host and hostess at our campsite was wonderful. The views of the lake from our campsite were gorgeous even though the lake was quite low. We took a 12 mile hike on Sunday and we still have miles of trails to investigate. This is my favorite state park so far and I look forward to returning soon.

Great place for family and friends time or alone for peace of mind! Very clean & well kept park. Great for camping, walks, picnics, etc. Only downfall to Staunton River State Park is there is no separate in-ground pool. That would be great if they'd consider adding pools. That sure would cut out alot of people travelling to Halifax County. They're already here for the fishing & boating.

Well I'm a little disappointed in the check in policy we were told can't check in till 4 but when we arrived found out we could have got here at 8 and if spot was open picked one then kinda messed up but it is a beautiful park bUT if you are coming for first time and have reservations get here at 8 am and pick you a winner well had to change review this place is not a very nice park at all yes it has beauty but you can't use the boat docks inside the park even if you are a registered guest big problem I've never been to a campground that doesn't let guest of the park use the boat docks place kinda sucks hit rudd creak much better place my family will never stay here again

Nice State Park. Some sites are a bit close - especially some of the "blue" sites. Green sites are best for those who want hook ups. All the waterfront ones don't have any hook ups, but are really nicely laid out. Bring your bug spray and be careful of the ticks. They are quite abundant. We didn't do any trails- just hung out around our canapés and our dogs got 4 ticks. Yikes. Bathrooms are ok too.

One of the best maintained public parks I have ever had the joy to visit. Very clean, cozy campsites, and two separate launch ramps to access the lake. Less than a mile from Clarksville.

I hate to rate it high because I want to keep it as quite there as it is now. We love this place. Due to not having a swimming hole it keeps the bathrooms clean ,adults that actually monitor their kids know what Im talking about. The sites are well kept and spacious. You dont have to worry about hitting low limbs here. The staff does a great job keeping the park clean. The park is well patrolled. Great trails and roads to walk or ride bikes on.
