We have lots of projects in the works, and lots of eggs being laid. Our incubator is getting a little too full with over 50 reptile eggs from three different species. Did you know that mini fridges make awesome incubators? If you happen to have a broken one that you are willing to part with, shoot us a message or give us a call.

Check out this clutch of uromastyx eggs!

In case you were wondering what we do when we’re closed for the evening (and not cleaning), here is a little glimpse from Andi -

If I had followed the rules of being a photographer and actually walked with my camera these would have probably turned out better. Either way, every time we go to Lowe’s we seem to leave with a new headlamp or flashlight with more lumens than the previous ones we bought. Tonight we found one with 1300L so naturally we had to take it for a test run in one of our favorite herping spots. I shined a nice little rat snake, and Paul DlDario spotted a banded water eating a big fish dinner on top of a DOR (dead on road) cottonmouth. It is so neat to have all of these diverse creatures in the area and I am so grateful to have moved to a place where I can experience them all!

Check out this latest feeding of the Peach Throat Monitor, Princess Peach. There is no doubt she loves a chicken dinner!

The peach throat monitor is native to New Guinea. They can reach an adult length of almost 4ft, and their diet consists of mainly fish, small mammals, and occasionally bugs.

Summer break is upon us and OBX Lizard Land has T-Shirts! Moby is obviously super stoked that he was chosen as mascot.

We have youth shirts in green, and adult shirts in black. Stop in and check them out!

While Andi hasn't quite finished with the new website update, these will be available online as well in the near future. For all of our interested out-of-towners, give us a call and we will be happy to ship them your way!

Eggsiting day at OBX Lizard Land. We welcomed the first of our Giant Madagascar Hognose eggs. We paired Medusa and Leo up about 2 moths ago, and recently noticed her getting pretty lumpy. We are still expecting a few more any moment now. Until then, these three and nice and toasty in the incubator. #madagascar #gianthognose #hognosesnake #hognosebreeder #hognosesofinstagram #snakesofinsta #snake🐍 #snakes #obx #lizardland #reptiles #reptilebreeder #reptilezoo #zoo #zookeeper #heterodon #snakesofinsta #animalsofinsta

And we’re back online and back on schedule!

Lizard Land will be open tomorrow from 11am to 7pm for your viewing pleasure!

Here’s a little find from our flower bed. This little garter snake was out basking on Mother’s Day morning. These are very common in the area. Don’t be fooled by their triangular head and intricate pattern, they are completely harmless and relatively docile snakes. If you see them around your yard, leave them be, they are assisting with pest control!

    Here's a little update on Luna 🐕

We are finally seeing some amazing improvements with her movement. As you can see here, we're getting lots of leg action. She's actively trying to walk. Even when she gets excited inside she makes attempts to get up and succeeds 40% of the time. She's still really wobbly and doesn't have the ability to coordinate her rear end. When she walks we use the towel to hold her up so she's not feeling too much pressure.

Luna is getting lots of rest, but we have to make time to burn a little energy and stretch those hammys every few days.
