Absolutely an amazing place. Able to see native Georgia animals and habitats. Wonderful Mile and 3/4 Trail through the woods and Marsh. Not to be missed.
Always have fun here with the family. Nice way to get the family out and walking around plus you get so see some animals.
Very nice and worthwhile place to visit. The animals are all native to the area and look well cared for. The walk through the woods and marshlands were informative and relaxing. If you're going to be in the Savannah, GA area, plan to take a few hours to visit.
One of my favorite places to go when visiting Tybee or Savannah. Beautiful walking trails and board walks in a low country Marsh . . . With animals! I always come here with my three little boys. It's a wonderful place to burn off the wild energy from traveling and learn something while we're at it. Clean quiet, and beautiful!
Great place for an awesome hike with lots of stops for wildlife! Definitely a place kids will enjoy, but I'd recommend bringing a backpack with extra water, because it gets hot out on the trails. Ask when they feed the wolves and get to the (air conditioned) viewing area ahead of time for some great, up-close views.
We had a great time here! Wear comfortable shoes, as you will be walking on trails. Informative, and has a nice variety of wildlife. Animals seemed to have adequate living space.
Great spot to spend a few hours. TAKE BUG SPRAY We did not and everyone got bit up. The animals all seem well cared for and the staff was professional and seemed to enjoy what they do. We were disappointed that the cougar wasn't out, but the wolves and gators made up for it. 8 of us went and I believe it was only 25.00 for 2 adults and 6 kids. Worth the trip and a great price but please TAKE BUG SPRAY.
It was really nice. Our little ones loved looking at all the animals. The only thing I would suggest is either putting water fountains out x amount feet apart or making it clear that people can bring drinks. It was really hot when we went and were under the impression we couldn't bring outside drinks. And make sure you have bug spray. Really nice inexpensive getaway overall with an awesome staff.
Such a great, family friendly place to spend the day! We enjoy nature and love to be outside so Oatland is ideal for us. The animals are well cared for and truly loved by the staff which made the experience even better!
Great place to walk around. Membership is a great deal if you want a regular place to get your nature fix.
A great place for families. They have all different types of animals here and beautiful walking trails. It's a little more than a mile to walk through the whole place with areas to sit and rest if you need to. It wasn't expensive at all and you can take as long as u like to walk through and look at everything. You walk at your own pace.
Well worth the the price of admission. My family and I spent nearly 3 hours inside and we had a blast. Would not recommend wearing sandals or flipflops though. We could tell how much damage Hurricane Matthew caused and saw all of the repairs made so far. That is why some exhibits were closed but they are doing a terrific job. The signage could be a little better so that is why I gave a 4. Other than that, bring a cooler, rent a wagon and have a good time!!
Since moving here, I've been repeatedly told that the Low Country does not have a zoo. I believed them. Well, this is a true fact, Savannah does not have a formal zoo, it does have the Oatland Island Wildlife Center which has many learning-focused animal exhibits. Sure, if you've been to a zoo and are expecting a zoo experience, you'll be downright disappointed, but if you are looking for a family-friendly, learning experience with nature and animals you will greatly enjoy yourself.
Recommend you take your time and bring some quarters to feed the giant catfish!
