O'Brien is a city in Haskell County, Texas, United States. The population was 132 at the time of the 2000 census. As of 2010, the O'Brien population is 106. O'Brien is located at the junction of Farm Road 2229 and Texas State Highway 6; the nearest large city is Abilene, seventy miles to the south.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5sqmi, all of it land.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 132 people, 54 households, and 32 families residing in the city. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 55.30% of the population.There were 54 households out of which 24.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.3% were married couples living together, 9.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.7% were non-families. 38.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 24.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 3.34.
