Khyl is so welcoming that he’s more than just my instructor. He is my friend. He’s worked hard to build something incredible, a family of sorts committed each to their own dreams. He is a patient and descriptive teacher who has left the door open for you if you choose.
This is a pure form class. Old school ! My boys are learning not only jujutsu live, but life skills on how to be a man. They are going get hit, and learn that's okay just get back up and fight back. Mentally and physically. They are learning about respect for themselves and others, & sportsmanship. They are learning from their mistakes, and that you should want to be the best at what you do.. Most of all hard work is rewarding. I could go on. Lessons I try to instill , but these lessons are only truly heard from someone other then their parents . I believe it is important to have a mentor for my kids. I have found that with the instructors at ny united BJJ. My only regret is not starting earlier.
As a white belt who has had no prior experience in BJJ, I gotta say I do not regret becoming part of this team. Khyl, the instructor always takes the time to explain everything he taches and how to apply. Not only that he is always willing to help and repeat himself. The higher ranking belts also have a great attitude and are always willing to help. The vibe here definitely set the tone for me… serious but loving, “No excuses … get some.”
I truly can’t say enough good things about Khyl and his program. My kids have learned so much more than jiu jitsu from attending Khyl’s classes. They have learned discipline, dedication, respect, and so much more. There are plenty of classes closer to home for us but what they get out of this program is worth the extra drive. My kids are now aware of their strengths and weaknesses and are being giving the tools to improve themselves in all areas of their lives. We are so thankful to have started this program and look forward to seeing our boys continue to grow through the program!
After trying out a couple of wrestling programs in Rockland County, we decided to join coach Khyl’s program. If you are looking for a coach to, not only motivate your child but to push him/her to reach his/her full potential then this is the only program that makes sense. Even though my son has only been wrestling for 4 months, he has developed a love for the sport. My son looks forward to going to wrestling every practice and training hard. Coach Khyl is tough, but fair, and extremely supportive of his students.
