Great place for kids, dogs, and all the above. Has some very well kept trails and lots of places to explore. Very dog friendly.
Great place to take your dog. Miles of trails!
My place for peace & exercise. Beautiful trails
The Northwood Meadows State Park is conveniently located on RT 4 in Northwood, NH. Recent improvements to the parking area has increased the capacity and is now paved. It has one main trail that is wide, hard packed, and generally flat until you get near the lake. Several side trails that branch out near and around the lake including a handicap trail to make it easier for some to get to the lake. The park is enjoyed year round by walkers, hikers, joggers, mountain bikers, fisherman, hunters, picnic tables around the lake, ice fishing, snowmobile, cross country skiing, bird watching, and other outdoor activities. While the park does have a leash rule for your favorite four legged friend, oftentimes dogs can be seen off leash. Just remember, it is a pack in - pack out your trash park.
This was an excellent place to walk with small children and dogs. Lots of nice places to stop for a quick picnic and nicely marked trails.
Great place to walk, trails well cut and marked
For a New Hampshire State Park it's not very big however it's a nice place for fairly easy hiking and biking. There is an all-access trail that leads down to Meadow Lake but there is no beach. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are common activities at this park in winter. However, you have to watch for snowmobiles because they tend to end up on trails that are marked No Snowmobiles. Overall if there are not a lot of people there, it's a nice peaceful place to go and spend some time in nature.
Nice way to get away without having to travel too far. Dogs loved it, outside of being on lead the entire way.
I come here at least once a day to read the newspaper and watch the sunsets. I also enjoy watching the fights that take place in the parking lot.
A nice little park with secluded areas to enjoy. The trails are very easy but scenic and the ponds are a wonderful place to relax for a while. The major loops are assessable by stroller if you have a little one to push around. A great little state park!
