Nasty place full of prejudiced doctors. Went in with horrible stomach problems (I have a history of diabetes and bouts of diverticulitis). Apparently the doctor profiled me in front of two young interns (for long hair and tattoos?? I certainly did not "ask" them for anything) and was pretty much pushed out of the ER. Had to go elsewhere to get treated for what turned out to be my 3rd instance of diverticulitis.
The only way I would end up at this hospital again would be against my will if I was unconscious.
Definitely do not visit any of the specialists on the north side of the building either, they are just as bad if not worse.
This is what happens when your healthcare goes corporate.
My daughter had to go to the ER. We got to our own room fast and our doctor got to us very fast. He was very polite and it truly seemed like he wanted to exhaust all options to make sure our little girl was good.
The hospital is great...it's the operators that need to be checked into...I was on the phone with one "girl" and I wanted the pain management dept.she asked me where...CDH or DELNOR..I responded DELNOR..when I made a comment to my roommate...that if I wanted CDH I would have called CDH...her response was in a very sarcastic tone told me they were one big happy family...I was not talking to her at this point and I certainly did not need her sarcasm...if you are going to butt in where your not needed you are in the wrong place
I had my first child here, and everyone down from check-in was amazing! It wasn't an easy birth but I always had support from the nurse on duty. Definitely recommend!
I wanted to let everyone know that is an incredible ER. From start to finish everyone was friendly and caring. I had an RN and Nurse Practitioner who was very thorough. Lovely experience when I was not feeling well.
We had our first child here. Their staff and service was absolutely amazing. We heard great things and they definitely lived up to it. Every nurse was pleasant. The birthing "suites"were awesome and clean! If your having a child we would highly recommend you having him or her here.
I was admitted on 11/1/16 with acute kidney failure. I was taken first to the ER from doctor's office there in the medical office building. I was in the ER by Dr. Kasil. I cannot say enough good things about this young man, he's awesome. I spent 5 days getting my situation remedied. The ER staff, the ICU staff and my regular floor staff were incredible, they went the extra mile and bent over backwards giving me the best care. Quite simply, they ROCK!
This review has nothing to do with the care at Delnor. This review is of the call system. It's horrible. Ever since they merged with CDH and now Northwestern medicine, the phone system and more importantly the women who work there are extremely rude. Or don't know where to direct my call. It's also very scary that there is not 1 heart surgeon on staff. There are heart Dr's but not surgeons. I'm having surgery early next year and I've been told more than once to only have surgery at CDH because it's the better hospital. Sad for a great town like Geneva.
Have had many horrible and tortuous visits to the ER accompanying my pregnant wife in the past year. When you press the call button for a nurse to HELP... they just come in and turn the alarm off but no nurse! 4 hours in a room before even knowing who our nurse is... this is unbelievably bad. We are begging to get out of here.... STAY AWAY
The New Life Maternity Center is amazing! It is unfortunate that we had a tragic experience happen to our family but the support the staff/department showed us was just truly wonderful. They were all extremely sympathetic, helpful, and most of all; caring to our families needs. I cannot thank them enough or I should say; no words can express how grateful we were to have them all there to help us get through a very difficult time. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!!
I delivered my daughter there in the beginning of 2015. The nurses, especially Beth, were great! Beth stayed there even just after her shift ended to help deliver her. They were very nice and very attentive to myself and my daughter. My mom and the father of my daughter were in the room the whole time and the nurses were attentive to them as well. Great experience, would recommend them for labor and delivery! My daughter stayed with us the whole time after she was born as well, was only taken away for her tests. Absolutely loved it! Thank you Delnor!
