This was my first experience in kayaking. They had very good equipments with knowelged guides. Before entering the lake they taught us how to maneur it. We were in two person kayak, three guide were there one on front, one explaining the spots and last to check no one left behind. We were clicking the beauty of picture rock with our mobile camera. They took us till ship wreck and started our way back to shore before sun set. We went for the evening kayak to see the picture rock at it best. The only thing which would have made our trip better was the initial logistic arrangement which took more than an hour before we reach the shore.

We had a fantastic tour (full day kayaking) of the pictured rocks national lake shore with Northern Waters. The tour is very well organized and quite safe. The company is very professional, provides all the necessary gear and use highest quality kayaks (the best I have used till date). The guides are super friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and make the trip fun. The trip itself is adequately timed with enough breaks and does not feel rushed at all, which lets you take in the beauty of the place. We paddled through small caves, next to waterfalls and below the arch. Highly recommended. We would definitely go back to Northern Waters when in the area.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommended northern water adventures for all you kayaking needs. Also, they've never required a rescue unlike some of their less responsible competitors.

Awesome experience! The water was a little rough but the guides got us through with no problems at all. They went out of their way to make sure we made it to the arch despite the rough water. By the time we stopped and had lunch, the water had cleared up enough that we could paddle right up to the rocks. It was an absolute blast.

Carl was friendly. Nice equipment! Miles was a wealth of knowledge and quite pleasant. Thanks to the gals from Northern MI University for their awesome skills. Henry was an excellent guide-and he can scoot in that little kayak of his! It was a windy day and all 5 of them made sure we got back safely. Nice ride to and from Munising to the shoreline. Spray skirts on kayaks were a plus:-) I work at the University of Michigan hospital and I will be recommending them to my colleagues.

Girlfriend and I loved our Half-Day trip. Well worth the money.

Friendly guides that shared everything that we would need to know while out on the water.

PS - Dan's (one of the guides) Dad-Joke game is strong.

I would definitely recommend this outfit for their all-day kayak trip. The day we were booked was crummy and Carl called at 7:30 to cancel. Fortunately he was able to reschedule us later that week and the weather was great. This place has excellent gear. The kayaks are solid and each person has a spray skirt so we all kept pretty dry. They have dry bags for your gear, lunch bags for your lunch, and spray jackets if you didn't bring one. These are all at no additional charge and everything was in good condition. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. They gather you downtown then caravan to Miners's Beach, about 12 miles total. Instructions were brief and effective. We were on the water by 10:30 and back by 4. Kayaks are the best way to enjoy the lakeshore - wonderful trip.

We contacted Carl about renting skis during the Mi Ice Fest and we were very glad that we did. Carl was knowledgable friendly and fair. He provided us with all the information that we needed to make the right gear decisions and even offered some extra services at the already affordable rates. Thanks, Carl!

We were worried when it rained all morning, but the guides were encouraging and told us it would turn out to be a great trip, even if it was raining. Sure enough, the water was calm and the rocks were even prettier when wet.

Our guide Dan was informative and friendly. We'll definitely plan on coming back!

This is a great outfit to go see pictured rocks with by kayak. Highly recommend the day trip. It allows you to make it all the way to the Lover's Leap if weather permits. The guides are very professional, but still enjoy to have some fun and joke around with the group.
