The doctor and staff took good care of my cat and explained everything thoroughly. I'm glad that there is an emergency vet service in the area and would go back if my pet needed after hours medical care.

The staff was kind and courteous. It was obvious they genuinely care about the animals the treat. Worth the 45 minute drive.

Last week, I faced the worst decision a pet owner ever has to make. It was early in the morning, so I went to North Central Veterinary Emergency Center and their doctor and staff made one of the hardest, saddest days of my life as comfortable and soothing as possible, given the circumstances. To say they were amazing is an understatement. The doctor and staff were completely sympathetic and went out of their way to assist. They offered a free paw print to serve as a reminder of my fur baby, and it arrived in the mail the next day. Today, one week later, a beautiful sympathy card arrived in the mail and was personally signed by their staff. The fact that they took the time to show their sympathy and express their condolences prompted me to write this post. I do not usually write reviews; however, service like this could not be ignored. Their dedication to their profession is unparalleled. They are a huge asset to the veterinary world! Thank you North Central Veterinary Emergency Center!!

It was the closest emergency vet near us and it was 20 minutes away; I'm thankful it wasn't farther. The staff was friendly and gave us our options and sent us home with notes of the visit as well as recommendations for our normal vet. I thought it rather pricey but most places like this make money off of people who need emergency services; so not surprised. Overall thankful to have a 24/7 vet within a tolerable distance.

My pup began having violent, unexplained seizures at approx midnight. The vet saw us quickly however insisted that I choose which medication she receive - either phenobarbital or keppra. Um, I'm sorry - YOU'RE the doctor and I am in the middle of a crisis!
I chose a medication and went home to try to sleep. When I returned approx 8 hours later to pick up my dog and take her to our regular vet the tech at the desk said, "oh, we've been waiting for you to call, she isn't doing well." EXCUSE ME?? It turns out that they ended up giving her both meds without improvement and she spent the entire night convulsing and seizing. The vet actually said to me, "I COULD HAVE SET UP AN IV DRIP BUT EH, I DIDN'T REALLY HAVE TIME."
WHAATTT??? We immediately drove our sweet girl to a neurologist on the north side of Chicago where she received amazing care, but I will forever feel guilty for the night she spent at this office.
There are unfortunately very few 24 hour emergency options in this area so if you must go here please be prepared! Again, they made me decide which medication was to be given and then knowingly neglected my dog all night long without giving me any notification of how poor her condition was.

We took our almost 3 month old sheltie puppy there on A Sunday for a leg injury. The facility is close to our home. It's extremely clean and neat. The support staff was excellent, through and kind. The vet on duty was professional and explained everything they did. I would definitely use the facility again in an emergency.

Niko swallowed a hair bonnet. I rushed him over to North Central Veterinary Emergency Center. He was able to be seen immediately! The Veterinarian and her staff were great! We were on our way home within an hour and I didn't have to spend a fortune on an emergency service. I would definitely recommend this location if the need arises.

Couldn't have chosen a better place to take my fur baby. The Dr and staff were awesome. They treated my Rustee with kindness and compassion. Most of all, they made me understand what was happening to my pet, in human language. The facility was immaculate.
