Credit nightmare for a pair of jeans plus poor service add up to lost customer. Back to Brooks Brothers I go.
I just started to shop at Nordstrom's after years away. It feels like they are trying to get better, so I wanted to give them my business.
What a disaster. A pair of jeans and a belt cost me over 2 hours of my time. First the sales associate forgot to take the security tag off the jeans. Noting happened when we left the store. I called the store and they told me to come back. I drove 40 minutes back to the store to be told they would have come to my house to take off the tag! 80 minutes wasted! BTW, their security system for the tags does not work according to the staff.
This is the worst part. I was asked if I wanted to join the program to earn points. I agreed. The sales associate took the basic info then asked for my household income. I asked why they needed that for a points program. Turned out she was trying to open a Nordstrom's credit card account! I told her I absolutely did not want one, but it was too late. I came home the other night to a letter from Nordstrom's credit stating they needed more info for my application. I called the number to say I did not want a card and wanted the inquiry off my credit report! I was duped by the sales associate to open an account. The CSR tried for 25 minutes to get a supervisor when I gave up with her. I called corporate and asked for Blake Nordstrom's office. His assistant Erica was very helpful. Within hours the credit card issue was resolved. Erica also apologized for my unnecessary trip to remove the security tag.
The acting store Manager in West Hartford called to ask if I still wanted to close my points account as I had quite a few points. I said yes. It will be years until they gain my trust to try shopping there again. It is an upscale store with upscale prices, but I am not going to shop at a store that has sales associates that try to get you to unknowingly open a Nordstrom's account so they can earn a bonus and screw with your credit rating. That is one step too far.
For those who care, the store offered nothing to make up for my time lost or for their dishonest (and I am told illegal) credit practices. Honestly, I don't want anything no less have anything to do with Nordstrom's.
Great finds. Generally great prices too
Good selection of name brand fashion at cut rate prices
This store started off on the right track with a great selection, however, they've fallen off. I could never find anything good anymore. The staff is friendly and they keep their store clean.
The customer service is always great when I go to the store
They have great service. Always there when you have a question, and will do the best they can to help even when they are not sure.
The store was clean, but dressing rooms need more maintenance since customers toss the needles all over the floor. They kept the displays in great shape by closely monitoring them.
Prices are awesome. Can get brand name suits for a third of the actual price.
I used to run to Syms years ago. This is my new place, and better.
The one problem I had, is there is quite a few things missing something. Like a suit, sold as a two peice, and missing the pants.
Best name brand place to shop and shoes galore!!
Great selection; well organized and fair prices
Love it great selection of high end designer clothing
Great clothing, great prices: shoes, sneakers, ties, dress shirts..etc.
Nice place. Good quality. Check back often though since they move inventory quickly.
If you're looking for a great deal on shoes, clothes or household items this is the place to go. Easy returns from hautelook or online store. Good customer service
Most of the shoes and clothing go for full retail price. Most of the stuff can be found at TJ Maxx across the street for half of the price
