Don't Go there, Just throw your DSLR in trash, just to check small things they are charging hell lot of money. I will never suggest Nikon to anyone.

My DSLR is frequently shutting down, and just for that they are asking $400 bucks and not even telling me what's wrong with it and why are you charging me $400, and online customer service is horrible .

Terrible! I sent my camera for sensor cleaning, later to find it had not been clean. It has been 4 weeks. During that time I did not get a chance to check the camera, it was still in the plastic wrapper. I sent the camera back, now they are charging me again for the cleaning. I inquire if the service have not been done, why do I have to pay additional fee for the service? They told me the company policy is maximum of 12 days they will redo the service. I asked where is this 12 days written. They told me this is not written anywhere. Is this legal? Even our credit card penalty is written however small fine print it is, you can typically find it written somewhere.

I have spent the last 2 days trying to ask a question by email or phone. Nikon is oblivious!
They should have mobile friendly website. I spent an hour in an endless loop without result. Maybe B&H Photo will buy them and setup a decent website. NO SALE FOR YOU!

Terrible customer service. I purchased thousands of dollars worth of equipment and when I received it, the battery was missing. They first told me it would take 1-2 weeks to receive it, then I "should" receive it within 3-5 days. They could not confirm, nor rush the delivery for the mistake. When I spoke to the "supervisor", he was terrible over the phone and not helpful. He pronounced the word ask "aks" too. He said that there was no one higher than him to speak with and that I would have to mail in a complaint. There was no one else to speak with or contact any other way. I thought going through Nikon would be the best for purchasing camera equipment. If I already was not invested in Nikon products, I would return the items purchased and buy a competitors brand of products. I understand mistakes, but I am furious about the situation and the fact that he lied to me and acted like my business and satisfaction was low in importance.

I have dropped off, and collected later, my Nikon camera. I was always very satisfied and thought they were very professional. I only wish that they had a direct phone line connected to their Melville headquarters instead of that mysterious, faraway 800 number. You can trust them, I think, with fixing the cameras.

I love Nikon products except when there defective and then Nikon refuses to replace the camera. I'm unsure how Canon is but I would suggest looking into them instead. I've been dealing with Nikon CS for months now trying to have my D610 fixed and for some reason they can never figure it out and to top it off I usually have to call them 3-4 times to have them send me a shipping label or receive a update. I'm currently on my 3rd time sending my camera in for service in under 6 months. :( I even have a claim filed with the BBB.

This long story shows why Nikon US and Nikon Canada are nothing but a failure in providing proper and satisfactory service to their clients. Please take the time and read

As a Nikon user for close to two decades, who have invested thousands of dollars in Nikon pro cameras, lenses and flashes, I have to admit that every single time I have tried to seek professional service from their service centers I have been disappointed.
The current issue which has given rise to this short complaint, goes back to 2013 when at the time I had the known focusing issues and problems with my two D800 bodies and also issues my 24-70mm lens with soft focus and the fact that the lens did not zoon out all the way to the 24mm and got stuck at about 35mm. Since I had purchased the lens from Kenmore cameras in the US, Nikon Canada was initially refusing to service the lens. However, since Nikon knew their focusing issue with D800s was well recognized, when I contacted the senior management in the US they decided to agree to service the lens in Canada calling it a complimentary service. Nonetheless after I got my cameras and the lens back, I noticed that the issue with the focus was still unresolved, while the zoom issue with the lens was fixed. After sending the cameras in again for the second time and not having the issue fixed, I decided to get rid of them and eventually replaced the cameras with D810 and D800E, only to realize the soft focus on my 24-70mm lens persisted. However, sending the lens in again from Vancouver to Toronto and waiting that they can hopefully solve the issue was not an option. I tried to deal with it until I moved to Toronto 3 months ago. I decided to take the lens personally to Nikon service center in Mississauga to get it fixed. Now, I am in Toronto doing a Masters in Documentary photography at Ryerson University and thus have obtained Campus Nikon Professional Services (Campus NPS) card which as it claims on their website, it should provide me with:
    5 Days Service Turnaround
    Subsidized Shipping
    Service Safety Net2
    • All Maintenance Free of Charge including Wear and Tear
    • Available for the duration of Program Enrolment

Thus, I decided to take my lens to Nikon Canada to get it services and aligned for the issues of the soft focus which had persisted so far. To my surprise, Nikon Canada not only did not accept their fault not having fixed my lens three years ago but kept insisting that the lens is out of warranty and they disregarded that they failed to fix my lens in the first place not alone the fact that as a Campus NPS member they should fix and repair the lens for its maintenance and wear and tear. The lens shows absolutely not sign of abuse either, and the only thing is the focus mainly at 70mm which is relatively soft.
A few days later (October 18th, 2016) instead of fixing the lens, Nikon Canada sends me an estimate for repair with service pack B2 for the amount of $374.99. Just after I call them to complain about the fee, and asking them to fix the lens since they had failed to fix it before, the next day on October 19th 2016, Nikon sends me a new estimate with service repair rank C for $599.99. It is interesting to note how I have all the right to distrust Nikon at this point, since not only they failed to fix my lens three years before, but also changing their mind about what needed to be done for my lens just a day after I contact them to complain about the cost, perhaps thinking beforehand that if they increase the cost of repair they can negotiate it with me later and settle for the initial asking fee which is exactly what happened after I called them again.
