Funny, weird, and chill. Had a great time talking to the bartenders. Great live band. Would come back again whenever I visit Allentown.

Bartender was very nice. Interesting and welcoming crowd. Beer selection (draught) was not great. They have live music almost every night. Large space and very local.

It's a very interesting niche establishment. The music and talent is great! Please remember it's cash only!!

The staff is great and the atmosphere of daily live music is legendary. Some may call this a whole in the wall but these are the best places for realness to happen, and live music conesseurs know what I'm talking about.
Maintaining 4 stars on over 70 Google reviews is absolutely outstanding in this city. During live band performances their is an area for open mic opportunities that is very often available. I met one of the promoter guys, Curt, he was so down to earth and all about music and good times.
I recommend Nietzsche's for locals and travellers, all are welcome and heralded as guests. Thank you

Great local haunt that has a ton of history and is a staple of Allentownbut the serviceugh. The doorman doesn't know what's going on inside and he doesn't care. When I asked who is playing before paying the cover, he said "I don't really know. The band members don't tell you that anymore". This has happened a couple of times. If I'm paying a cover I'd like to know at least the genre of the music I will be listening to. Then on the inside, every time we go, the bartenders overcharge my husband for drinks (depending how slow or fast things are going) or they charge him different prices for the same drink

Very divey. The audio quality for the band I saw was very poor.

Fat adolescent guard in top hat at the door tried to sell me heroin. When I said no he threatened my girlfriend who is legally blind. Said we were "worse than the blacks."

This review is way overdue. Like from the early '90s! had just moved to Buffalo for my freshman year (art history major), and read something in a local paper about an upcoming show featuring the critically-acclaimed band, the Goo Goo Dolls. Eager to explore local culture, I donned my favorite formal attire, a floor-length velvet skirt, and set out for an evening at Nietzsche's. Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to find plenty of room to stand up close, right in front of the stage. "It's my lucky day!" I thought. The place was packed. "The Goo Goo Dolls must be awesome, I wonder what they sound like"

The lights dimmed, and the Goo Goo Dolls came out on stage. The lead singer addressed the audience: "Would anyone out there like one of my socks!" he screamed, as he pulled off his tube socks and threw them out into the audience. The crowd erupted! Everyone was running full force at the stage, and side to side, slamming into each other. I was totally smushed and about to be trampled when some really big guy in the crowd picked me up and threw me off to the side. He must have been really strong because I remember people looking up at me as I sailed through the air. If anybody knows who he is, please tell him I said thank you for saving me. I was the girl with long blonde hair wearing a long skirt who obviously had never heard of moshing. Every time I hear the Goo Goo Dolls on the radio I remember this, and it's amazing how different they sounded back then. I wonder if the singer still wears tube socks LOL

Great to hear live, local bands. Bar (service) consistently underwhelming. Better options all up and down Allen
