New Leaf Urban Gardens assists in the education and training of urban youth in an at risk environment by providing mentoring through academic and social-emotional skill development utilizing real life agri-business training. NLUG has the objective of opening it's doors during the Spring of 2012 and will be located in Evanston,Illinois at Boocoo Cultural Center, 1823 Church Street, Evanston, Illinois 60201.

NLUG is an urban farming and entrepreneurship training program for young males who are ex-offenders or at-risk youth committed to turning over a new leaf. NLUG will build upon its work over in the past two years to provide fresh locally grown produce and value added food products to Westside residents and area seniors through the West End Market, on-site at the Boocoo Cultural Center & Cafe, and mobile market. NLUG will expand from a seasonal grower producer to a year-round grower producer with a heated hoop style greenhouse.
