It's worth checking out. Grate hiking trails in the north west corner.
great access to trails as well as educational & interactive weather and climate displays
Today I used NCAR for its parking lot and easy access to boulder open space hiking trails, as I’m sure many of the other reviews mention. While it’s always been a favorite spot, I’m sure usage has increased since boulder began restricting parking at the open space lots to county residents (jerks).
Despite its quick, easy and free access to great hiking, you can’t overlook the research conducted here and its impact. The visitor center is open every day and a variety of tour options are available. The public can also access restrooms and the cafeteria.
Great place to hike and check out the museum. Plenty of parking and easy to get to.
One of our favorite places we visited during our trip to Colorado. The kids absolutely loved it, lots of great examples of how weather works and the short movies are very interesting to watch.
A Really really good museum, I wish everybody would visit it and act accordingly. The building itself spectacular and worth while seeing in it's own right.
Absolutely love the trails! You can access many trails of different skill levels from NCAR. Wonderful views of the front range.
Great place to take kids to explore and learn about science and weather. Beautiful hiking trails and wildlife behind the building. Great views of Boulder and Denver.
Well, it's a perfect place to start and end a hike. Ample parking. Great views of the valley and Flatirons
An incredible location and building worth visiting for just those reasons. This place is also full of unbiased information about our environment in a very easy to understand format. The fun stuff for kids was actually really fun for me, a sort-of adult, just sayin :)
I highly recommend every kid K-6 has the opportunity to visit. The science educators there are clearly dedicated to providing learning experiences for all ages. It is a well thought out design, a goregous venue, and even non-scientists enjoy it.
Incredible exhibits. Informative. Hands on. Loved putting my hand in a cloud. And outside, beautiful hiking trails. Great morning!
The NCAR facilities are amazing and definitely worth a visit. The architecture is just perfect. But, my favorite thing about the space is the hiking that's available. Miles and miles of gorgeous trails!!
We toured the facility on an extremely hot day, which was a good idea since they keep it nice and comfortable inside. They have some neat exhibits, but it's not for everybody. I can see how it would be great for an Elementary School field trip, but for the average Joe, it will be just mildly interesting.
